Nah Sy it is not disappointing, it is watchable but it is not the best of alien films.Symonator wrote:spoke to 3 people who watched it so far, let's just say "dissapointing".

LOL errr.... yeah and the gameplay sucks too. It's just like one great big cutscene, I mean - WTF?Dazbobaby wrote:I saw it in 3D, and I agree with YP, not really worth it. It doesn't add anything to the game.

I went to see it yesterday in 3D.
Well its not a 3D film, hardly anything was in 3D,
They could of done alot more with it on the 3D side.
Never seen it in Imax, But the Spiderman trailer was shown and thats proper good 3D, thought the trailer was the best thing of going to the Pics.
What can i say about the film, Disappointing yer.

i have to say one thing about the flute thing dave the concept of an alien is just that "totally different" so anything goes, if they control the ship by bottom burps its the same thing
if we ever met aliens they may be so totally alien they are beyond our human comprehension. im hoping they are sexy though lol

I just watched it and quite enjoyed - but then I wasn't expecting much. The film pretty much follows the Alien template step by step.
I can't wait until the 3D for camera shot stuff matches the quality of CGI stuff. But I thought the 3D was cool when it kicked (e.g. when the alien ship's cockpit activated).

I think it works well when it's not over used though, so that now and then you get something that is really 3D and you notice. If the 3D is strong all the time, you get used to it and the effect last about 5 mintues. By under using it the director can keep making it pop (like the holographics in Prometheus).

I watched this again last night, and I really enjoyed it this time. I guess I was expecting an in your face Sigourney Weaver type Alien eperience, and while it's not all that, on it's own it's still a great Sci-Fi movie.
I think I also paid more attention this time too.
The "engineers" created us, we fucked up along the way, and they were sent to destroy all life on Earth.
Something went wrong and they infected themselves by accident.
2,000 years later we pay a visit, get infected, figure this out, things go wrong, people die, we leave.
Overall much more enjoyable with the second viewing.

I find a lot of films more enjoyable second time, because I am watching relative to my grounded (or even disappointed) expectations from the first view, rather than ungrounded expectations going in first time.Dazbobaby wrote:Overall much more enjoyable with the second viewing.
Kingdom of Heaven is a case in point - I was "meh" at the cinema because I wanted another Braveheart/Gladiator, but it grows on me more the more I watch it.
