I saw it in 3D, and I agree with YP, not really worth it. It doesn't add anything to the game.

Nah Sy it is not disappointing, it is watchable but it is not the best of alien films.

I went to see it yesterday in 3D.

Well its not a 3D film, hardly anything was in 3D,
They could of done alot more with it on the 3D side.

Never seen it in Imax, But the Spiderman trailer was shown and thats proper good 3D, thought the trailer was the best thing of going to the Pics.

What can i say about the film, Disappointing yer.
I went to see it with Kim Yesterday, She was majorly disappointed.
But its not her type of film, she hates Sci-Fi

For myself, well yer, it was Disappointing,
WTF i dont understand it is a Preseqeual to alien.
I dont care wtf they have said in about the film, IT IS!!!

How the hell can the ending Not relate to it.

Anyway about the film.
My opinion, they attempted to fit everything in that was the built up to the presequal, to answer so many questions,
Fair enough, but maybe they attempted to answer too many things and cram too much in, and lost the focus on the story abit,

The Idea of the maps of a drawing was laim as fuck, They could of some up with something better, Maybe a actually map they found in a cave, but for them to put 9 carvings of stars together to get a map, and scan the universe for that map. Yer Okay..... Sci-Fi yer i know but thats a load of crap.

They arrive there and jump in straight away.
Them containers, the Robot said Pure Nutriance or something.
And you see a Clip with Worms in the Black stuff.

Then later on it looks like them Worms have grown like a Zillion times there size.....

So its like Mirical Grow maybe, sounds sensible.
but wtf was with the Worm like thing in the Guys eye.....

Actually no more to the point what was with the Octopuse she give birth too.... what is in the human body that can accelerate that much? A super size Sperm maybe..... never really got that part.

Then as that guy deterates. well how quick!!!!
One minute he has red eyes, next minute is is falling to the ground and cannot walk, Next minute he is human, Someone talks camera turns, goes back to him (4 seconds maybe)
And goes from Human to Muintan lol!!

The ending should i say was poooo!!

Actually i thought it was the biggest disappointing film i have seen in a long time.
Against the Reviews and ratings on the new, that will fall into the top 250 films of all time,
Its Crap!!!

The Acting was great and the graphics where very good,
But only positive thing i can say about the film.

Also a point that pissed me off sooooo much.
You have some Advanced Alien race with some Super Space ship and soo much Technology, Yet you use a fluet to activate it WTF!!!

Space helmets in this day and age are bullet proof to prevent small, high-speed object smashing and killing them.
Yet a guy falls to the ground and it smashes.....

Okay yes its Sci-Fi, SET IN THE FUTURE.
how does Technology move backwards??

Space craft falls on you, Lets do what they do in cartoons and run with the object instead of stopping and running to the side........

Am going to stop, because the more i think of the film the more i can pickholes!!

i have to say one thing about the flute thing dave the concept of an alien is just that "totally different" so anything goes, if they control the ship by bottom burps its the same thing =)) if we ever met aliens they may be so totally alien they are beyond our human comprehension. im hoping they are sexy though lol
I probably enjoyed it a bit more than dave, i found it not very inspiring, for all the hoohah and build up its been a bit of a damp squib. Nowhere near as good as Alien or Aliens. as ive said before and as dave said how scott can say this isnt a prequel to Alien and then ends up beginning the cycle is utter bollocks, i said to my mates before we went in "here's my prediction, we the humans end up creating the aliens directly or indirectly, its our fault." and oh look we DID! what bursts out of the engineer/space jockey at the end something that looks like a frigging alien! it all takes place in the same planetary system as well the moons of that gas giant, the moon from alien is just next door.

Visually i thought it look great, a nicely conceived world, which is what you expect from Scott, the music was good too. but the 3D was fucking pointless.

i enjoyed it but i'd give it 3/5

I just watched it and quite enjoyed - but then I wasn't expecting much. The film pretty much follows the Alien template step by step.

I can't wait until the 3D for camera shot stuff matches the quality of CGI stuff. But I thought the 3D was cool when it kicked (e.g. when the alien ship's cockpit activated).

states i cant really say i noticed the 3D so ive given up on 3D for the moment it was a good gimmick that worked well on a few films but its gotten old hat to me now

I think it works well when it's not over used though, so that now and then you get something that is really 3D and you notice. If the 3D is strong all the time, you get used to it and the effect last about 5 mintues. By under using it the director can keep making it pop (like the holographics in Prometheus).

I watched this again last night, and I really enjoyed it this time. I guess I was expecting an in your face Sigourney Weaver type Alien eperience, and while it's not all that, on it's own it's still a great Sci-Fi movie.

I think I also paid more attention this time too.
The "engineers" created us, we fucked up along the way, and they were sent to destroy all life on Earth.
Something went wrong and they infected themselves by accident.
2,000 years later we pay a visit, get infected, figure this out, things go wrong, people die, we leave.

Overall much more enjoyable with the second viewing.

I find a lot of films more enjoyable second time, because I am watching relative to my grounded (or even disappointed) expectations from the first view, rather than ungrounded expectations going in first time.

Kingdom of Heaven is a case in point - I was "meh" at the cinema because I wanted another Braveheart/Gladiator, but it grows on me more the more I watch it.
