Now that I use shitty trains to get to work, I'm reading a load of books. And one author I'm getting into is Andy McNab. Obviously Bravo Two Zero is compulsory reading to anyone with a vague interest in war books, but he's also a pretty decent author. I'm currently reading (nearly finished) another of his books - War Torn.

You may remember there's was a Killzone 3 book? I randomly discovered it in Tescos or Sainsburys or something and snagged it. I quite enjoyed it, as it goes.

Well imagine how chuffed I am to find this then... Don't know anything about it really, but author + product = automatic win B-)

EDIT: Apparently he was also doing motion capture, and giving weapons handling advice... +1 more

EDIT 2: LOL at some of the comments to the article I got this from:
ForestRoot: MW3 maybe comes with a 401 pages book later on.

Insanelouis: MW3 won't have a book, because Activision knows that the target audience for MW3 doesn't read.

EvelKnievel_937622: each 100 pages will be $15

SageAbkatsor: With 4, 25 page, expansions that will each cost $15

Pwnerator: Just confirmed by news hound Jim Reilly (woof woof) - MW3's book will be locked in at 60 frames per second

I've read quite a few war books (Sniper One, Band of Brothers, Black Hawk Down) never any game books they just don't have any appeal to me that those I mentioned do. Reading a book with some tunes going chilled me well out while I was hit with early starts back in college could just sink into my own world and chill was bliss.

Sniper One is fucking amazing. I read it in about 2 days, which for me is crazy - normally takes me a week or more to read a book.

Coincidence?
Andy McNab joined the infantry in 1976 as a boy soldier. In 1984 he was badged as a member of 22 SAS Regiment. He served in B Squadron 22 SAS for ten years and worked on both covert and overt special operations worldwide, including anti-terrorist and anti-drug operations in the Middle and Far East, South and Central America and Northern Ireland.

Andy McNab eats scorpions for breakfast.

He also writes a lot of books and Amazon are listing him as co-author of the 400 page ’Battlefield 3′ book, presumably a tie-in novel for the forthcoming game.

Sitting in the co-author chair is Patrick Bach from Battlefield developer DICE and this has lead to speculation that the book is a novelisation of the single player campaign.

It's like a forum, only stuff is spelled properly, and punctuated properly. And the only "TL: DR" you get is the blurb on the back :)
