does anyone know of a way around the fraps recording 4GB limit?
I'm having to use Vdub to recombine then handbrake to convert, and it's a bit of a pain.

ahh pcm audio and avi 1.0 shit.
It splits the video into multiples right?
Why not just place them all in a timeline in vegas and re-encode?
other than that, u could try this other program, but i'll have to search for it because i can't remember it now, it's like fraps but has no limits. (but it uses alot of memory)..memory u might need.

You probably already know this, but 4gb is the maximum addressable by a 32bit value. Maybe switching up to 64bit something might help?

But it will still use a file index. And if it is restricted to 32bit operations, the maximum file index will also be 4gb.Dazbobaby wrote:@infinite, this is just storing on the HDD, NTFS limit is terrabytes.
4GB = 4,294,967,296 bytes = 0xFF FF FF FF + 1 (0xFF = 255 = full byte)

your talking a different language now.
All I can say is that the file system NTFS has a different limit to fat32.
This is an example of a file:

When I combine the other 5 files I get this one at 31GB

LOL all I'm saying is the maximum number you can store in 32bits is 4GB - 1. Seeing as you mentioned that magic number, I'm just floating 32bit as a possible problem...

might explain why on my machine 64bit 8gb ram i do not get the fraps problem thats why i said not come across the issue.
Also could be the fat 32 issue.
Anyways daz, you could install xfire and use that instead or a program called stoik.
