WD-TV Media Player

I have heard a few things on the forum,
but not able to find it!!

Over the years i have had a number of Media Players.
That play all sorts.

But the Menus and Controls are horrible, slow and temperamental.

I loved the PS3 menus, Easy and fast and Faultless!!
But with the New Piracy Control on it! its as good as dead to me!!

From my the info i get, its only a control over what is being shown at the Pictures.

Some of the films i had issues with before, i dont now! but i downloaded a couple of great R5 copies and wanted to watch them and it come up with the stupid message....


So am on the look for a Media Player that has a GREAT!!!!!!! Menu interface. and its fast!!!

MKV Support would be a must too!!


If i keep the PS3.... am not sure!!! its becoming some what redundant for me now, am not interested in gaming at all!! and with the media side failing on me a little more i might just push to the point of selling it!!

I duno!! but Media players!! talk to me!! what you got or seen? or attempted?

There is away around everything,

Does no one every remember the Days when PC Games used to have that Anti COPY Program,
You could not Rip a Game DVD Because of this CopyProtection program.

There was away around it not long after.

Everything that has ever been done, away around it has been found or done

And i would not Consider WD-TV
If i done that i would never ever turn the PS3 on again and might just sell it,
I barley ever play it as it is.

It works, it plays MKV, supports subs, 1080p, multiple languages, 2xUSB ports and more.

There is away around it,
And it can be done by Encoding it. I got it working on Battle of Los Angles.
But it took over 2 hours to convert / encode.

Cannot find anything quicker.... and i HATE converting films
I can just about handle the fact i do a MKVtoVOB job

So far this little box is proving to be a bit of a gem.
It's played EVERYTHING I've thrown at it, even stuff that the PS3 couldn't manage.
A marine story:
PS3 - refused point blank to play it, transcode through PS3MS lost lipsync, and the WD-TV - No problem at all.
Jeepers Creepers - PS3: No sound
WD-TV - perfect
RE:Afterlife - PS3: Cinavia stopped audio playback
WD-TV played perfectly
and so on for about 10 other problematic movies.

It's also networkable, and it see's DLNA servers. BUT it also has 2 USB ports, so my 500gig SD movie collection, and my 1TB HD movie collection is immediately available.
Because of the network functionality I can copy to and from those drives.

With some excellent custom firmware too.

As for BBCiPlayer and ITV player, I dont know, I dont use IPTV and I watch next to no TV anyway.

I use the WD-TV, PS3 media server and 2x HDD's
The WD-TV still see's and uses the PS3 media server, so it's still all good.

Nar I called the supplier on Friday!
They said it's been sitting on his desk since Wednesday!
No one told the driver to collect it!
I was told driver would drop it off Friday but 6'oclock rolled on an nothing!!
