Phone Contracts

My phone contract is up for renewal, and TBH, I dont want to bother renewing it.
I've been with 3 for nearly 8 years, and it's been good, and it's been cheap.

BUT I was looking at ipads and iphones and I was staggered.
It's actually cheaper to BUY the ipad/iphone from a currys(SPIT)/Comet/Argos, go back to 3, get a cheap (or free) phone, with the same kind of deal (usage and data plan), and swap sims.

The deal is:
Buy the iphone for £150, then pay a MINUMUM of £25pm for 2 years, thats £600 over 2 years and you still have to buy the phone, and it's worse with iPads.

Fucking rediculous, and to think people actually do this?

I got offered a Upgrade on my £35 a month contract
and a charge of £50 for the Iphone.

£35 a month got my 1500 Cross Network Minutes
Unlimited Texts

And 2 GB Bandwidth Allowance. AKA "Unlimited"

Your not including your minutes / Texts and Bandwidth in that.

How much do you spend a month on your Phone.

If i where on Pay as you go, i could easily top 50 a month.

And after being with them so long they let me drop it to £23 PM
No extra time, No charge.
I just lost 400 Minutes

i got an htc wildfire and a very nice contract for £7.49 as a loyal.
Can't grumble meself.

o2 were shite with me at last renewal time, in 2008 when i renewed i got given a 18 month contract, £20 a month unlimited data, 1000 texts and 1000 minutes they couldnt match it this time at all, i kept pushing and pushing them to give me something better or i'd leave in the end they called my bluff and i couldnt leave, since my home phone and broadband is from them too its fairly cheap just the phone that costs me a lot now. i got a deal through CPW which i didnt want to do but had to in order to get the desire, as soon as i can lower the contract (after 9 months) i will do so, but i think mobile phone service providers are becoming VERY stingy now
