I am Darron, live in 'Fax W.yorkshire. Old fucker at 38 - and thinking of joining the Toy Army.
I started work at 16 bartending, went in to retail for 10 years, swapped that for HGV driving.
I have an on off relationship - she's on, I'm off :laugh
Currently unemplyed, as you know.
I did work for PCworld in Leeds (for my sins) as a technician for 8 years before quitting and started to drive.

Hello (stands up in middle of group)
My name is Richard and I've been an gaming addict since I was a bairn. (ala Atari 2600)

I'm 35 married with an 18 yr old daughter (previous marriage) living in sunny Leeds.

Never really had the head for computing apart form the design aspect so you lot put me to shame with the tech know how.
(bows down)

Print-finisher for years, then print estimator, now trying to help my wife's graphic company move along into the video age with tit bits of video work and animations, but still learning.

Used to party DJ but haven't bought any vinyl for ages, into Tech-House, House, D&B, but mainly if something is new to me, I like it.
(dont tell anyone, but I used to be a Happy Hardcore nut - back in the day!) whistle posse blow!

Love all music really, I'd die if I was deaf.

Looking forward to festival season, working selling progs at Leeds and Bestival, bought tickets (paid last amount today!!) for Glastonbury. Gonna get sooo fucking messy (if we can find any "goods") I just cant wait - I think I've just pissed myself!

Seddon - cool idea for a thread.
Daz - you sound so much younger.... are you a professional "groomer"?
KK - hahaha, I hope when(if) I get to 38 I still have as much umph in me! you should smoke more! :)#
SY - when do you get chance to sleep?

Worked in security for many years, still got my 'Door Supervisor' SIA Licence -

but I'm too old for all that now.

Went with a vampire theme for my new PSN account and sig because I am always up at night.

Work for an ISP now. Was in sales but now moved to cancellations team.

"No you can't have a fucking MAC code" :devil LOL (my new motto)

Charlie, 33 (I think), soon-to-be-married with a 5 month old daughter.

Went to school, went to uni, turned a 3 year course into a 4 year course thanks to a discovery of class As. Spent 4 years after that living with parents, smoking dope and playing and writing games (good times).

Then I started programming games for a living in 2000 and been doing it ever since. Currently writing games for the DS in Croydon...

Congrat's when you do get married m8e.
Does programming games give you an edge playing them do you think?

Thanks :grin End of July is D-day :gaga

It only gives me an edge if the game's AI is deconstructable or something, so it becomes easily predictable. Other than that, no. It just makes crappy issues with games more annoying to me than they would be to most other people...
Dazbo

So do you have respect for certain people or companys?
Also, have you tried coding for the ipod/iphone, there's some people out there who have made a fortune off iTunes.
OK, so not many, but some. If your games do well on the DS, can they be transfered to other platforms?
I'm a nosey git at times, but I'm interested on how the whole mechanics of writing works, and not because I code, I dont, it just fasinates me, it's like voodoo.
Do you have a production DS or is it emulated. Do you write solo or for a company?
Anything we might have heard of? Nintendogs for example?
