NTFS is just to make it more difficult to play movies, but there are ways around that...
Contrats though Seddon, the WD-TV live is brilliant, and when you flash the firmware it only gets better.

One thing i just found on this that i fucking LOVE!!!!
I now leave my External Drive plugged in and access it over the network and copy MEDIA to it.
Now all fairness its not as quick as plugging the drive into my machine.
BUT i started copying a movie on Last night, and it was taking forever, i fort i will see if the Player will start playing a PART file.. As it was only a quarter through Copying.
Guess what, it played with no Issues...... So i was able to watch something that was still copying to the drive

i've got my wd tv live and yeah its nice
questions:
i know the standard wd firmware does not support moviesheets, so presumably i need to flash with b-rads firmware? can i choose to go back to standard firmware once flashed to b-rads?
does b-rads firmware recognise 2tb ntfs external hdd's?

yes you can return to official firmware, there is a text file that comes with it, edit the revision number upwards and reboot.
As for 2TB hdd's I don't know, mines 1.5TB
Dave is the one to help with movie sheets, I never had much success with them, or the OSD Mods.

Have a look around, there is a tutorial on creating your own OSD mod.

yer i have all the movie sheets working,
It does take a little effort, but its slick as hell when there all working,
I have not done them all, only a folder with HD Movies and started doing some seasons, Problem is there is no Good Sheet Generator for MAC
But you get programs that basicly use the Movie name, search IMDB, download the Movie info, and the ratings and searches for some Cover pictures,
you select what you want and save the Sheet in what format you want,
Name the sheet accordingly, or if you have each movie in its own folder leave them as they are.
Ill explain more in detail when i get into work.
You will know when you firmware goes through properly. As you will see a New Option in the menu called: Tools:
In here if your connected to the net you will see Download PLugins, there you can download and activate all sorts.
This was one issue i had when i done a CFW, i never got this option,
Maybe a messed up CFW or a bad download i dont know, but make sure you have that option its a needed thing.

@redVENGEANCE, if you've got the random wallpaper application, then I've got enough wallpapers for it to keep you happy until Rapture (next year according to the Mayans

)

Nope.
dave is the only one who managed it... there's a wiki for it, but no instruction on folders for images or descriptions.

right daz, here goes:
1) i am running 1.03.49 WDLXTV
2) logon to WD TV Live via your web browser
3) click on WDLXTV Config
4) click on WDTXExt Features tab, choose Sheet as Movie sheet mode and select all 5x tickboxes
5) reboot WD TV Live
On my external HDD I have each movie in its own folder as follows:
HDD > Video > black hawk down > black hawk down.mpg
Download and run ThumbGen
When run properly you will end up with 3x additional files in your movie folder as follows:
black hawk down.jpg
black hawk down.mpg.tgmd
black hawk down.mpg_sheet.jpg
When you run WD TV Live make sure you select list mode when viewing videos and job done!

That looks pretty simple...
Nice one Seddon.
does it also work for a list of movies in one folder?
I'll try it soon enough I suppose
I reflashed back to official last night due to problems copying across the network.
I was also using a different version of the flash 1.02.21 so I'll give the other version a go too.
