Yeah IGN have been covering this for a while.
Definitely on my radar, especially after having my appetite whetted by BF'43 for some WWII dogfighting action. HAWX is all well and good, but it feels very detached - not like the mano e mano feel of Air Superiority in '43.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey also looks shit hot:

EDIT3 (lol): FYI, my dad's a pilot, and so was his. But his dad was killed by Turkish terrorists on the runway, taking off in a Spitfire. It's in my blood :ninja:
