Heres the history of what we have been told.

1943 was not meant to be game, it was being used to improve newer frostbite engine code and bugs.
Part way through this they found that the frostbite was now working better than ever
(named frostbite 1.5)

They then decided they would create a few older maps from previous games and work with them, low and behold they decided this was to damn awesome not to try and sell, so they polished it until they released the first videos.

SO this is a arcade FPS shooter with features improved and bugs eradicated as expressed from user feedback.

They also said they are open to looking at previous bf titles and remaking them - despending on how well this game sells, they might look at expansion - its always a possiblity - said devs.

Is this game a pre bf:bc2 - definetly not.
Is it a look at the future with new features like planes and stats systems etc - oh yes.

This game costs DICE literally nothing to make, so they wil make huge profits for this one.

one thing is, this time they didnt have to build the frostbite engine at the same time as making a game (like bf:bc).. expect better , bigger and more robust gameplay.
