Was playing sniper on par got into a vehicle drove to the nearest flag, and there it is a big heavy tank is already capturing it. So I quickly jump off the vehicle and in the bush, get my JDAM and start targeting the tank. The two guy must have seen me, so they jump off the tank and start running towards me and.... my JDAM gets locked. So here is me a sitting duck waiting to get knifed. I start steering JDAM towards where I'm sitting attempting a suicide bomber
...then I dunno what happened. 1 guy runs up to me, the other one jumps in my vehile..BOOM! Destroy vehicle +10 + 2 corpses and I'm still alive. I even screamed lmao!

\Battle recorder, this is a great idea, maybe you should suggest it to DICE for BFBC2. basically they can log everything positions, bullet fired bullets hit etc etc from the server and the replay this in real time. So instead of watching just video you will be able to literally replay it, wonder the battlefield anywhere during playback and if you can then make a video would be awesome, massive marketing tool for the game too.

have you got bf2 or 2142 KK?
If you do, you can download the files and play to your hearts content.
You can literally control the whole view of the battlefield from any angle and distance.
Then, you can even record those angles and trajectories, playback in slowmo etc.
Fucking brilliant piece of engineering.
I really dont see why they dropped it.

I'm hoping they do.
It's simple in theory to implement, basically it records coordinates and bullet shots etc. It's exactly the same information that is being sent accross the internet, but instead of discarding it after use, it's logged ready for playback.

That would be a sweet feature in any FPS. Unfortunately it's easier to do on PC because they have so much more memory, but I'm sure the PS3 could handle background streaming to the HD...

Well, the BF recorder actually worked server side, ie, the data was stored on the server for download after every round.
That will be the reason why it was dropped, some files could be 60mb+
Roughly 2mb per person per round, per server, and data cost being 1p per meg at a minimum, you can see costs spiral out of control.
But still, hd caching should be doable.

I think because the game is on the Blueray you can play it back from blueray if you pass all the game data to it. This will be some small file to download and then it is all client side. You can record PlayTV in good quality to HDD, you can save game in the same format or smaller res as a file too. Custom movies man!

How about throw few ATMs from the building, jump and shoot them on the way down, huh?
