So I started with it yesterday, and it's not nice.
Plenty of squits and vomiting.

Last night I ended up in A&E, I had trouble breathing and pain between my shoulder blades, NHS direct didn't take any chances and got me straight in. 42 year old smoker, history of heart disease throughout the family on both sides.

As soon as I got there, I had an ECG and blood test.

All fine.

It was determined that my stomach was so badly bloated it put pressure on my lungs and reduced my ability to breath and I could only breath shallowly.
The pain was probably a pulled muscle from the vomiting.
So they gave me codeine for the pain, anti-vomiting drugs, a saline drip, Dioralyte to replace salts and sugars from the diarrhoea.
I also had the worst stomach acid I've ever known and I already use Gaviscon advanced (its like treacle its that thick) and omeprazole to reduce acid and acid reflux.

So thanks to the help from the lovely doctor and she was really nice :) I managed to sleep on and off until 1PM today! I did wake up at 7am with the guts that sounded like a coffee percolator :(

At least I'm getting and feeling better, only trouble is... mom's now come down with it, and she has heart failure.

glad your ok, sounds like the norro got your pretty hard, ive had it once and it was not pleasant at all, if your feeling a bit shitty and vomity its not worth going to the hospital but in your case it could have been anything so was definitely worth going
An explosion now and then is nice. Keeps the mind sharp,

Yeah I've had norvirus too - it was not fun. Ironically, I caught it in a hospital :-s

It was sensible to go to the hospital though if it starts affecting breathing etc. Hope you and yours get over it soon.

The most annoying thing about norovirus is that you never get immune to it, so you can get it again...

I called the NHS Direct and they made the decision, so I don't feel like such a leper.
I'm a hell of a lot better though but totally knackered, it really can kick the shit out of you... literally. Mom's not suffering like I am but she's still unwell.
