I'm experimenting with an animated banner.

could do with advice too actually. I've asked to install flash player 10, but every time i play a flash video it plays it in 9.
Tried uninstalling 9 but to no avail.

Also within flash cs3 the video still looks a tad blocky, yet when played on Applian FLV player it looks better.
Am I just missing the "how to install Flah 10" Gene or something?

sorry coda, that I cannot help you with.
The wipeout video does look a bit blocky or compressed, not sure why, but it does'nt look as good as it did.
I'm working on a couple more too see what the best results are.

There you go Daz - get your laughing gear round that.

See if you and your clever buddies can work out how to put an SWF into play on the forum page.

if you can and you like the attached I'll work on a better one later.

no luck, Dave did try several different ways, all failed.
The only other way was to hard code into the template, but it looked stranded on it's own, it would'nt sit in the forum correctly and was lost at sea.
Then Dave hit on an idea, can it be recoded to gif?

ah well never mind.

If we recorded that to a gif it would be about 20mb or more so I wont bother.

I dont know anything about bb code or forum layouts or anything, but I was thinking it could have gone under the main board, or under the top header, would that have been any easier? - rather than slotting it inbetween the "normal" stuff?

Right, attached are two files.

One with square video

One with slanted.

Not sure how to crop SWF's, if it can be done at all, so I exported as AVI and had to re-embed it, which made the overlay lines look wank so removed lines and bobs your uncle - but to be honest the straight one looks slightly better, in my humble opinion.

If anyone out there knows how to crop (at an angle) an imported AVI within an SWF, then export as SWF with no overhang then please let me know as I've never been able to work it out and cant find it anywhere on forums.

Maybe it is asking too much for Flash to cope with?
