My first ever zombie film was Dawn of the Dead (1978) and to this day it remains my favourite, but there's a scene where Roger turns into a zombie, then takes one in the dome for the team.
Zoom in (real dimensions: 720 x 480)
But it could have been so different, he asked to die, my question is what if he stayed a zombie?
So I compiled a list of Pro's and Con's to being a Zed, could this change your mind?
Pro's
Zeds live forever (at least they do in typical movie law, 28 days/week later are the exception)
They're difficult to kill and take a real pounding (unless they get shot in the head)
You've got friends (millions or even billions of them)
They can walk underwater for miles at a time, no oxygen required
They're in space too, no oxygen required (Black ops expansion packs)
They'll eat anything, and no stressing over the next meal! (as long as it's human - you never see them eating deer now do you?)
You don't need clothes (grunge is in)
Losing a limb is no big deal
You don't need to hold a conversation, your only known word is "urgh"
You don't go to hell (it's already full!)
People need a survival guide to stay alive around you
You're always out on a Saturday night
You can "turn" your living friends
Biting is now socially acceptable.
No more school or work!
No peer pressure
Con's
No change of clothes ever
You walk funny
The living don't want to be near you and will try to kill you all the time
No sex (barring porn parodies, zombies never get "freaky", they just are freaky)
No more The Big Bang Theory
You smell
You live forever (unless a live person decapitates you, shoots you in the head, or you walk into spinning helicopter blades)
So that's it, the Pro's win. Now I'll ask again, to be or not to be (a Zombie)?
