I really should try the trick of recording them.
Again though, it's all to do with incentives. Pay them minimum wage, then put cash bonus's on high profit products.

Did you know that DSG try to make a minimum of 33% profit on all products?

Belkin cables for example can be bought in for as little as 30pence, then sold for £10-£15

I used to see the managers reports regarding pricing, our manager(s) were useless and couldn't print their own daily reports, so one of us in tech had to do it for them. The figures were frightening. Another reason why I left. Even on a quiet day (£30,000 turnover) the store would be £20,000 in profit. One manager even gave us his password because it was convenient.

Those extended warranties - 97% profit!
PC purchase price - £600
Warranty price - £400
Total profit of around £600, plus any consumables would add to that total very very quickly.
The sales guys would throw in USB cables for free, but the customer would think they'd saved £15 a time, not knowing it cost DSG only a few pence.
