I've just read an article on confused.com about how you can switch your test station to rural areas. Rural area's have higher pass rates due to being easier to drive in them.

Case in question, a person passed first time in Exeter, but was worried about how difficult the test might actually be because it's a busy city.

But my thoughts are this: if you live and will drive in a busy city, it's best to pass your test in a busy city.
If you can't pass your test there, then you don't deserve to drive there, and as it's your home town/city, you really need that experience.

Now since I passed my HGV Class 1 test, and have experience of driving all over the country, I know that I can drive an artic practically anywhere, and cars... I don't even think about it.

On another related idea, should people be forced to take lessons in HGV's after they passed their driving test? It would make them much more aware of the dangers that HGV drivers HAVE to think about.

I tested in west yorks around pontefract I got the benefit of everything, country lanes, built up streets, town centres and the a1 which was terrifying at first. I find city drivers to be quite aggressive frankly.
An explosion now and then is nice. Keeps the mind sharp,

Do you have to be? Or do current driving conditions force it on you?
I've seen what all the major cities are like for driving, and city driving is aggressive up and down the country. But why? All it does is create accidents (that no doubt get blamed on the other driver), and stress. Maybe it's me, but when I drove HGV's in places like London, I didn't give a shit, if I did give a shit, I'd have gone insane and killed someone deliberately.

Because most people are probably on their way to or from somewhere and want to get there ASAP. For you driving was the job, but usually it's just a means to an end.

Coupled with the fact that most people (expressly not you) are selfish cunts, coupled with cars allowing passive-aggressiveness to morph into simple aggressiveness. This all contributes into a giant arms race of selfish aggression.

Yep I've seen it.
Some of the worst driving I ever saw was on the south circular, all that lane merging. 3 into 1 doesn't go! I've seen some very expensive cars mount kerbs just to inch in front of me. It's madness.

You see some crazy shit and all to achieve what? Being one car further ahead in the queue? Fucking idiots - put some tunes on, open the window, light one up and chill out.

Get where you're going in about the same time, with lower blood pressure :ymhug:

LOL yeah you could do that, although I'm not sure attracting the attention of horny weirdos is a good idea while you're stationary...
