yer the brightnes or cloudyness is due to the brightness & saturation on the video, which i need to alter too a bit darker.. but basically as u just said what u see there is basically the source file (as youtube aint got its hands on it) - if u want to look at what youtube does to videos, look at the normal version lol.

the dazzle spec says it captures at dvd quality - that is not 1280x720 (thats hd)

you can't capture at 1280x720

we get it but what i dont understand is you say you capture at 1280x720when the dazzle only captures upto dvd quality (which is not 1280x720)

when you click on the hd switch in youtube the image quality is better but playback for me aint smooth!

BTW the HD option on Youtube aint HD

When you watch on youtube it uses codecs to compress the file for low qty playback,

HD uses different codecs so you cann watch a more upscaled details version,

Its always limited so regardless if you but a blueray film on there, youtube's codecs will encoded to for faster streaming reducing the qulity .... i belive so

but this is not true HD either!

the reason they are going on youtube HD (higher detail) not high def is because u can trick youtube to not do much else with the video.

What im doing is providing a full video with little to none qulaity loss.

and yes my last video does have a HD switch, what are you on about?

Or u can do HQ videos at a cost of quality.

capture video from TV screen @ 1280x720 16:9 ar.
Then u trick youtube into thinking you uploaded a full high def movie - which means youtube doesnt play with the encoding to much.
This then produces the HD switch on the video and then you can see the video as it was recorded and intended with no loss of quality.. so having HD link on the player is pure video.
But not true high def - do u know what i mean?

Thers no way to get pure HD on unless you ave a £300 capture card or a HD vid cam.

1280x720 recordings to youtube is classed as higher detail, (HD) not HD as in high def
So basically you trick youtube by encoding as HD .. do u get it? -

so in a nutshell you tell youtube u got a hd video, when u haven't and it keeps the video as you recorded it, without loss of quality

Ok, a lesson in Hi-Definition
HD (Hi-Definition) includes the resolution of 1280x720p and upto 1920x1080p (Full HD)
Anything above 720x576 is classed as hi definition not just the resolutions listed. 720x576 is used for broadcast and DVD playback.

I've seen pictures of this device on the net and despite my very best efforts, I cannot find a single specification that lists above 720x576 as it uses a single yellow composite cable or s-video cable, NEITHER of which carry the bandwidth for 1280x720.

I hazzard a guess that if you are capturing at 1280x720 the image/video is interlaced and resized to fit.

the point being im trying to get youtube to display the video without losing quality lol.
The whole point of this thread was to say at 1280x720 on that video you see now on youtube is because youtube thinks i have a pure HD file.. which i do not. (so its upscaled it to that for me without losing the quality)

you can encode your video after editing the size from normal 4:3 to 16:9 and adding the upscale so it shows in youtube as HD - but its not HD - you tell youtube its that and it doesnt mess with your encoding you just did.

DAZZLE has a upscale of 1280x720.. which u save, then edit as required.
Perhaps i don't come across the way i want to say it - but the whole point of this thread is about the quality of the video while keeping the bitrate smaller - hence 1280x720 because youtube thinsk thats what it is and gives me better quality// do i make sense here or what lol.

as for the hq/hd button in YT, mines set to HD/HQ, there is a setting for registered users, which I of course played about with yesterday, thats why is does'nt show it as an option for me, it's forced to play the highest quality straight away.

there widescreen player in HQ is 640 x 360 so of course dazle been recording at the sizes it can, didnt realise u can use pinnacle studio 10 and change dazzel settings fuck me lol.

So im going to record at youtubes widescreen player size, so when i finish it encode it and make it HQ it should fill out the player.

i just trying the HD mode before for more quality but im not bothering with that trick - imma upload a new vid in a few and it best work or im guna tear my fuck-----------------ing hair out lol

This is youtubes High Quality Widescreen.
So grab video - edit - render as - upload - end result.

Alli got to do now is just remeber to alter the brightness and contrasts, but thats minor.

Youtube is on 16:9 if you upload a pure native file at 16:9 1280x720 and it will class it as HD on youtube.

So my final and future gameplay vids will be
Watch HQ mode. - i mean thats quite acceptable for me - in regards to quality? what do u think?
I can crop the edges that are a bit black but i at least have a decent size and decent quality without tricking youtube..
