Just what is that makes this game so damned appealing?

Where do you start Daz.
If its the great Gameplay, Or the amazing detail to levels and enemy's, is it the challenge, Or the fact it gets easier in a perticilar mode "but when in that mode, people like us can invade and make your single player game super hard"

In simple for me.
Its a bloody fucking great game, and so was the first one.

The effort gone into constructing the levels, the detail and the Puzzle effect makes it amazing, (Zelda Like in a little way)

The enemy's are a challenge at the best of times, Alot of detail to them, and a tactical game in how to take them down.
Its not a run in and attack! you will die.

The Bosses!! One of the more rewarding parts of getting to the end of a level, And more so when you take them down.


Dark Souls for me now has become better than Demon Souls.
I cannot believe the effort they have gone through making the level.
Think of a Standered game, or demon Souls:
World 1, Level 1, Level2, Level3, Level4, World 2, etc etc etc

This game has all its levels, but its one massive level in its self, its all merged together.
If that makes any sense.
Imaging 20 Level, but them 20 levels are all in 1 level themself

Anyway am finding that hard to explain, I think you could pick it up pretty cheap on Ebay, Defo worth a look for anyone.

And for the other people who have this game.
Co-Op has been fixed. I was speaking to Chris about it, and he never knew,
Co-Op works flawless, Just sometime you there are areas you think you can co-op when you cannot

Am half way down, so a quick kill on the Spider and second bell done.
Where you both upto? Do i hold off and we do this boss together?

Dave gave a good overall summary, but to me the bottom line is it's combat model. That and the fact that no enemy in the game is simple player fodder like it is in most games (until you level up and become harder). The game is pretty much the exact opposite of something like Dynasty Wars. You need to treat every opponent with care.

If you like 3rd person sword and sorcery, you should definitely check it out. But if you did, please, please ask us for some advice before you start it, as it's quite easy to run off in the wrong direction, get battered then hate the game and rage-sell it.

The game makes zero attempt to hold your hand. It's like the difference between a Hollywood film that spoon feeds you the story like an idiot, versus one that lets you work things out for yourself. But once you understand how it works, it's actually pretty easy, and much more satisfying for not being spoon fed.

I spent a long time farming shit and running back and forth to get those two katanas you gave me maxed with fire and lightning. Then I nailed Lord Cinder and started NG+. Meanwhile, Sy killed the Four Kings after many failed attempts. He going to join the Darkmoon covenant, so I might join him. Then he helped me kill Maneater (or whatever it's called). So tonight I will kill the Wolf, get the abyss ring and kill Four Kings also and join Darkmoons.

Another intention of an early night gone to shit...

As you already have the ring from the first playthrough?

The game takes certain things away from you when you restart like keys, embers, and the abyss ring. So you need to kill the wolf before you can do the kings. But we can get yours and my wolves and kings killed tonight I bet.

Finishing Anor Londo (for the warp ability) may be a different story though. Especially after wolf x 2 and kings x 2... We'd need to kill Quelaag if not done already, then Sen's Fortress then Anor Londo (including those archer cunts that are going to be painful on NG+ at level 75).

Sy and I were toying with the idea of going up to level 100, but we could probably leave it until shit starts getting really hard. I have to say though - the game is more rewarding when you can't just OHKO everything.

Yer i agree,
Going higher would be great, but like you said, Things can just be a little too easy.
Like i know level 75, or my weapon.
Would be hard to graft for NG+
Because the boss was a one hit kill, and so was everything in the level.
Allthough when am hit even with my Tank defence i loose soo much health.

Go upto 75 tho will loose alot of Co-op i think. For each stage i have gone up i see less and less stones.

Am still on 74. But would love to pump up Endurance and Strength,
Its just that Do you dont you?

The more NG+ the more you will need to increase soul level, The higher the level the less stones. Less Invasion, Less Trolling [-x

The game surpasses demons souls for me too now + skype co-op voip it's even better lol.

In other news Dave..

yeah i got the four kings (got killed on the first attempt) as one of the phantoms died, the other got hit i tried to heal him as i was the other king spawned behind me and i got caught in his AOE effect which took all my life near enough, he then swiped the other phantom and caught me in the process.. however.. second attempt they got pwned!!!

I did the wolf anyway, easy as shit, just that when he hits you, you get hurt and if ya not quick enough he'll do that overhead jump and kill you, but luckily, i killed him anyway.
Doesn't have alot of health but if he catches you then it might be troublesome.

I've done:

taurus demon
maneaters (1st bell)
Pinwhell (catacombs)
queelag (2nd bell)
wolf
four kings and then joined the covenant and give them 10 humanity for the red orb invade item.

So i will just wait for u guys and we should all try sens after we done the bosses u need to do.

Ok well if your online when am online you can give me a quick hand doing some of the bosses then
Then it means a run through with Charlie when he is online.

(Saves the Complete the level run back to the start do it again etc)

Depends if your playing battlefield or not An still i have these Sunlight medals if either of you need them

I'll take those medals if u don't want them as i might re-join sunbros later on.

As for levels, i think if we went to 80 as max for these chars we should be ok.

80 is the top end of the hotspot still quite alot of co-op going on at that level.
Also if we ever do make other chars, i am going to make a level 50 max and just go strength/end/vitality.

Even at our levels 74/75 there are alot of co-op stones still, but u might not get called up as much because most people at this level might not need co-op anyway..

I'll be on bf3 till about 8 anyway, so i'll be on then

Awesome Daz!

Gives me an excuse to start a third char for pure strength and/or dexterity... (Endurance/vitality are a given for me).

But I wish you'd all fuck off*...I'm done with this game. I just want to tidy up the Battlefield plat and finish my iPhone game. But now that co-op works I'm stuck on Darse Houls.

Plus the 3am finishes are killing me with getting up at 7...
