I think it allows you to play in HD but the footage you capture will be SD.

It captures HD, but the downside is that it requires a beefy pc to do it. The hauppauge HD-PVR, has its own compressor, so you can get away with a low end pc.

Unless you want to upgrade pud get the hauppauge.
Minimum specs ARE misleading.

my PC is a bit outdate TBH, im just continuing to mull over options really, but i still prefered that dazzle box that recorded onto flash memory, some of you have rigs in one room, my ps3 is in the living room so its way far apart
