I have distinct hatred of flashlights on metro.

Caspian looks like its where the action is, ill be giving Metro a go but it sounds like it was made for COD refugees

I dunno who it was made for Pud but whoever decided that Metro needed to be the beta map is definitely working for the competition.

Can someone tell me what exactly prone adds to the game, apart from obvious glitching? Trying to understand DICE's philosophy and how they decide what stuff add to the game.

Prone is ok but remember its nothing new, it was in BF2 so stop bitching :p

so i got it downloaded today and here are my impressions

Interface: OK not as intuitive as BFBC2 seems to be a mash up of MOH and Battlefield the beta isnt doing a good job of keeping squads together and comms frankly are rubbish at the moment hopefully this will improve during the full game

controls on PS3 they are fine which is a relief a lot of FPS i played lately are awful, its pretty much business as usual same control scheme as BFBC2 tweak the sensitivity to your liking and you should be happy, recoil from weapons though is a b1tch a lot more than BFBC2, but you now have selective fire which is a great choice, melee knife kills are a bit glitchy at the moment hopefully it will improve

graphics
better than BFBC2 but not as spectacular on console as the PC but it still looks good runs well, seen a few glitches like killcams falling through the map, no game breakers though

sound
business as usual for a BF game, top notch, turn the settings up to "war tapes" and leave it there!

overall
i'm pleased i think the new functions like the bipods for weapons are great, the reduction of Spot Spam is a double edged sword but overall its a nice evolution i think its the wrong type of map to demo the game in personally and there are not even any vehicles whereas the BFBC2 demo had it all tanks, quads, and choppers this is a let down. i think they left out vehicles for the other FPS crowd to see if they like it, specifically COD twats.

roll on october and ill be avoiding OP metro like the plague

Jets look hugely redundant beyond the cool factor, which is disappointing. I was hoping they would be as practical and fun as the planes in '43... But why bother if their limited role is anti-chopper/plane when you can just use any old ground based AA? I guess they will just devolve into really fast taxis.

Hi guys
I am hoping to catch you on the bf sometime. Not been playing that much lately - had a few rounds on bc2 the other week and got my ass kicked from left to right (you aint alone Sy, others do it to me too!)

got my bf3 preorder sorted, so hopefully catch up with you when it comes.

Soz not been around - not been posting anywhere really. Think I'm getting too old for all this malarky, lets see if bf3 can prove me wrong. ?

peace

here are some updated thoughts from me

some players are already rank 40s how the fook did they do this? one twat SGC-1 on the op team was just mowing people down, l33t haxxzor?

im still mostly enjoying it, earlier in the day me and daz had two great games despite no comms its been more even handed

I love the sniper scope glint, its great it only helps a little but it can give you a chance to light these bastards up. what i dont like is the Laser pointer and the flashlight in that order, the laser is fucking stupid, in order to blind you like it does in real life they would have to point it right at your eye! in the game they just point in your general direction and you cant see fuck all, so consequently every bastard uses it when they unlock it! same goes for the flashlight! these need nerfing they wont get removed but whichever gobshite suggested them wants lynching

up close combat can be quite fraught in bfbc2 the pace is such that you can have a decent up close scrap most of the time, in BF3 its a bit buggy.

and i agree with Sy somewhat, bullet damage is a bit too high now, but then again what is it like in BFBC2? you can empty whole mags into people, its one extreme to the other.

stil looking forward to the full release but i hope its patched to fuck, and despite having mostly fun on op metro i think ill avoid it if i can
