Haha! Sorry, but I am with Sy on the subject of Killzone. It sucks admit it. The only game out there that delivers is Battlefield...and the lag ain't there, they cant, no one will buy BFBC2 if BFBC1 disappoints.

oh well.
If you're mind is made up, your mind is made up.

I'm thinking I like having different games to play - with different styles, then it doesn't get boring.
But if you dont like the controls then there is fuck all I can do for you.

I'll see you on the BFBC Battlefield sometime then.

i felt the same for a week after I got it, you should try it without the patch, now THATS BAD.
It's not too bad, it does grow on you, but it's not as addictive as BFBC.

I swapped disks yesterday quite a few times, what a hassle! :D Nah, I don't get tired of BFBC, the only way I can see myself playing Killzone MP is with you lot or if BFBC gets laggy again, umm maaaaaaaaybe if they make controls more responsive :XD

The controls aren't an issue for me anymore, but this game gets very stale, very quickly. Mainly because of the way every online game degenerates into the same thing: clusterfuck at a choke point. When will the Guerilla team learn? The maps were badly designed on KZ1 and they're better on 2, but not by much.

They should have stolen the CoD4 map design philosophy: reasonably sized with alternate routes to every point. Battlefield of course has great maps too, but they're designed around a different idea that doesn't apply to CoD or KZ.

Other things that serve as nails in the KZ online coffin are the constant lag and the lack of impact satisfaction. The lag doesn't really affect you so much, but other players are far from smooth. The lag also probably has a big part to play in the offline bullet impact system not carrying well to online. This results in little to no feedback as to whether you're hitting them or not. So you just keep firing until you hear the beep. Which may or may not happen up to 5 seconds after you have died.

This game has very little life expectancy. Especially as you can max your rank very quickly.

I played BFBC today for the last time, as I chucked the disk out of the window. Don't fucking care anymore as lag makes me mad. Fuck EA and fuck DICE I will never ever buy another EA game.

Cant comment on CoD4 - but the KZ2 maps I've encountered have tons of routes - its just the dingbats who go in a straight line who clutter the game up.

Yeah that really does bother me - its not like BFBC when you pop someone they go backwards - KZ2 has a little think first - thats a killer, but who knows - maybe GG can sort it?

Yeah, that's true, but what I really meant was that it needed "equi-distance" alternate routes. KZ2, you can either get into the action quickly and join the clusterfuck of random giblets, or you can trek for miles to avoid said clusterfuck and maybe bag yourself an extra kill. To be fair, I don't really know the maps well enough in KZ yet, but when I play it, it feels like I can either do a lot of running, or do a lot of spawning into death-shit. Neither is a great option.

And another thing about KZ I just thought of: a lot of the maps feel very claustrophobic. They should probably have doubled the size of all corridoors and doorways.

I think that was intentional. I like it. Makes it scary.

I disagree with Infinite, I think KZ1 maps were much better designed (maybe just a nostalgia?) Oh the feel, the atmosphere as well! Reminds me of the new starwars, so much of everything makes them inferior to when they just used models in the first three. Less is more is truly applicable to Killzone series, PSP version being the most minimalistic of them all. The controls on KZ1 were also fucked up, but in a different way, at least they were responsive but not smooth at all. Basically if you couldn't move stick once and aim on target instantly then trying to adjust was difficult. Also it had some issues with hit detection. So what did they learn from it?

Anyway the only game that gets my 9/10 from Guerilla is KZ Liberation, it would have been 10/10 if they did not make everyone suffer with delay on online release.
