LOL @ the whole video, but especially "tango down".

Some cool information, but borderline disturbing delivery. I can almost imagine him with a copy of Guns Weekly in one hand and his cock in the other.

I'll put money on way more than 100 hours. That sounds like decent pacing to me. Both Bad Company games were too quick to unlock everything IMO.

EA Has "No Plans to Charge" For Battlelog
Battlelog, the free social service EA is launching for Battlefield 3, forms a key part of EA's strategy to leverage gamers away from Call of Duty and Activision's own social service, Call of Duty Elite.

Earlier today an analyst note from investment firm Wedbush Securities proposed EA may copy Activision and introduce a premium version of Battlelog: "Although Battlelog and non-premium Elite memberships are free and offer many similar features, we think that many hard core Call of Duty gamers will opt for premium Elite, particularly if the total DLC spend for Battlefield 3 is expected to exceed $50. Ultimately, we expect Electronic Arts to emulate Activision and charge for Battlelog by including map packs with the service for a $50 fee."

Wedbush believes that Call of Duty Elite should generate roughly $50 million in revenue during 2012.

IndustryGamers has already reached out to EA for comment. The publisher has responded to the speculation and provided confirmation that, for Battlefield 3 at least, Battlelog will remain free.

"We have no plans to charge for this service with Battlefield 3," reads EA's statement. "The Battlefield series has always been about playing with friends, and Battlelog takes that experience to the next level by serving as a unique social network."

LOL 100 hours a kit is quite alot, if you think about how long you played bc2 for which was just short of 80hours for your entire game.. for me im like 1600 hours in now, but it's still alot of time to dedicate to 1 kit innit?
Just imagine that you only play 80 hours this time, you won't have even got a quarter through, so 100 hours is pretty long for the average player i think.

The people who dedicate 100 hours to planes/helis will have all the firepower compared to someone who only might use a vehicle for 5-10 minutes.

Looks like the upcoming BF3 beta is gonna be the tweaked metro map:

After visiting DICE last week, VG247 has word that the Battlefield 3 beta test promised for this month is likely still on track, and will include "hundreds" of changes and fixes since the alpha trial edition of the military shooter sequel. "Everything from gun-balancing to the placement of the objectives on the Rush map; we actually moved them around based on [the fact] that the first base was quite hard to take. We are still moving things around on that map to utilise feedback from the alpha. That’s why we’re doing it. It’s not to market the game, it’s actually to test it in a proper way. There are hundreds of things that we’ve changed since the alpha, DICE's Patrick Bach says. "Again, to the beta question, we are releasing the beta before the game and we are actually changing stuff based on that before we ship the game, even though you could argue that that’s very late close to the ship of the game, we will still have time to do, for instance, day one patches and changes to the Battlelog that will actually be game-changing." Access to the Windows version of the beta will be is guaranteed for those who preorder the game from the Origin Website.

I'm not saying it's short - I think it's just right. I've played Mass Effect 2 for around 100 hours now and it's taken about 3 weeks. But of course on the Battlefield, your skill decides how long it will take :-\

Bollocks. What? So the game is going to ship with one finished map and rest as alpha/betas is it? And if you're trying to tell me you haven't submitted your master build already, I say bollocks again.

It's good, and I'm looking forward to having an early crack, but don't try and tell me it's not marketing.

also confirmed radio beacon spawning, just similar to 2142 beacons or you may want a more up to date definition similar to kz2 tactical grenade thing.

u can still spawn on mates but if no-one is alive or someone got into a vehicle u could still spawn on the beacon nearer the action for example.
