weird phone call

I had a call on my mobiley phone a few minutes ago the conversation went something like this

ME: Hello?
Person: Hello, is that Gavin?
ME: It is
Paul: its paul gavin
ME: Hello Paul, (i know a few pauls, none ive spoken to for a while so i didnt recognise the voice
Paul: yeah im wondering when your going to pay me that money back
ME: I beg your pardon?
Paul: <short pause> who is that?
ME: your speaking to Gavin "mysurnamehere"
paul: oh, uh so your not Gavin "someoneelse"
me: no
paul: so what do you do Gavin
me: i think thats my own business, what are you calling for?
paul: your not a brick layer are you?
me: definately not
paul: oh right ive got your number agaisnt this Gavin "someoneelse"
me: well thats definately not me so you can remove me from that record thanks
paul: right er sorry about that
Me: no problems, bye....

an odd conversation, very odd that he could mixup two people with the same first name, which isnt a very common first name and end up calling me for money, just so you know i dont owe anyone anything

ROFL moments like that do make me laugh!!

It reminds me of a call i received from the Ebay Lawsuit
Trying to take me to court because i give them two fingers to there money!!

It started with something like:

Them: Hello Is This David Hamilton
Me: Yes Who is Asking
Them: Can you confirm your first line of your address
Me: Sorry Who are you
Them: We cannot disclose that information, You know who we are, you received a letter from us, Its on Behalf of Ebay
Me: (Playing Dumb) Ebay.... I fort they where Internet Company, What are you calling me for?
Them: Can you confirm your address
Me: You Called me and Asked me by my name, and you surly have my details infront of you, So why dont you confirm my address for me,
Them: We need to verify you are who you say you are:
Me: Well you called me on my number, Aint that enough
Them: We cannot go any further without details from you
Me: Well Excuse me, if i called you up at your home and called you by name and said, Can you confirm Your Name, Age, Sex, Address and did you have a shower this morning, How would you act
Them: She said its not like that at all
Me: So you call me by my name and then want my address, Would you like to take my ID,
Them: You received a latter from us you know who we are,
Me: Letter what letter? i received no letter, you must have my wrong details
Them: Can you confirm your address then please
Me: Who are you then!!
Them: We cannot disclose that information (By this time she was getting really wound up)
Me: So if i called you up and said, Hi am you bank, Can you confirm you address and sort code, would you give it to me.......
Them: No! but again you would of received a letter from us.
Me: Am sorry maybe i have memory problems but i sure i told you at least 3 times i dont have a letter from you
Them: Well in that case we will resend it then,
Me: Well why would you do that when you dont have my correct details
Them: Well Mr Hamilton if your not propered to help yourself, i cannot help you
Me: Why would i want your help, Your clamming to be a company that's on the internet..... Did you call me or did i call you, By the sounds of it you need my help
Them: Well if you want to be like that we will have someone come round to your door
Me: I never knew Ebay done door to door service........ But as i said i never got a letter, you must have wrong details for me, So it would be a pointless journey
Them: Well can you confirm your details
Me: Well unless you decide to give me your name, Address and phone number done expect me to give you anyway.

She got really ratty with me and said fine if you want to be like that! Expect to hear from us!
I quickly slipped in! you dont have my details
And then hung up!!!


For the record i knew dam well what is was, I sold some goods on ebay and was ripped off!! i took my money out my account and deleted my bank details so i basically was in Debit with ebay (Paypal is owned by ebay for the people who dont know)
They where attempted to take me to court LOL!!!

Yer i used to get LOADS of them at home!! this one was on my mobile!! personal phone an all that!!
But yer i remember them!! i ended up getting so wound up i grabbed the phone and ripped it out from the socket and chucked it across the room LOL!!!

there is one possible lead as to whom it might be, my friend Beckys mothers partner (bear with me) is called Paul, paul owns a building firm, paul has a lancashire accent, it actually sounded something like paul, but why on earth he would ring me, and ask for money back i dont know, id never ever lend money of him because he is a bit of a cocky twat

so the mystery for now remains unsolved, unless someone wants to ring the number

I made a BT sales woman hang up on me the other day as she tried to push their internet on me "for free" because we have a BT phone line. I told her that their HomeHub was crap, they probably traffic shape and 10gb a month wasn't enough...

Honestly i just downloaded 15gb worth of stuff last night pmsl.

Virgin rolled out a homehub and i didn't connect it, i have a samsung modem from virgin that came with the 50mb service, it works fine (as u can see i'm on the net)...

Anyways he's like your net won't work without the new homehub, it s specially encrypted to recieve your speed yeah.. ok.
