whoa, WTF... I've just been reading the official blog and the page disappeared.

I was reading that PS+ will cease due to the lack of users renewing after the first 3 months, and the following 3 months was even worse.
So they had decided to make PSN chargable to ALL as and when it returns.

But the page was deleted before I could copy and paste it.
I went to the US blog to see if it been written up there too, and there was nothing... I came back to the EU blog and its gone.

Unless you have been living in a high-walled villa in Pakistan, you'll be aware that the promise of a return to full service has been set to May 31st.

But what year?

Maybe hackers put it up for (anti-PR) lolz and admin took it down as bullshit?

The last thing Sony needs to do right now is start charging for PSN. They deserve to die a commercial death if they try that. But I'm sure they are aware of it which is why I suspect hackery (<- official term, I just coined it :) ).

Yep, someone from the group took umbridge and hacked their servers.

LOL yeah, was just coming to post the same...
It appears that Anonymous have trouble in their ranks – not that they had ranks to begin with, in fact that’s the problem. The following has been posted on a hacking site:
Anonymous wrote:We regret to inform you today that our network has been compromised by a former IRC-operator and fellow helper named “Ryan”. He decided that he didn’t like the leaderless command structure that AnonOps Network Admins use. So he organised a coup d’etat, with his “friends” at skidsr.us . Using the networks service bot “Zalgo” he scavenged the IP’s and passwords of all the network servers (including the hub) and then systematically aimed denial of service attacks at them.
Sony was targeted by a DOS attack and now Anonymous’ own members have used the same tools to bring down their IRC network.
Sony, er, Anonymous wrote:We are profoundly sorry for this drama, and we can’t give you a an estimate on when service will resume normally

The leaked information about the Xbox 360 dashboard is that PayPal is being added as a payment method.

Sony would do well to follow suit.

Another and completely useless update from Sony:
I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored. At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.

Tomorrow marks a full 21 days without PSN.
3 weeks, FFS.

And now more waiting?

Aside from pressing the PS button on my joypad a few times today, I haven't turned on my PS3 for well over a week.

If it's not up by the weekend, I'll get rid of the PS3 once and for all, though with all the PS3's for sale on ebay, I wont get fuck all for it.

i think thats a bit over the top daz throwing it away just because of the downtime, ive just been keeping myself busy with single player games and ive actually only just begun to miss it, ill be happier if it comes on slightly later and more secure than quicker and more open than a chav bints crack. :))

keep the faith brah!

Just a reaction is all... the frustration is pissing me off. (Catch 22?)

^ This. What does selling it achieve? It just means when it does come back you won't care and all this waiting will have been pointless. And worse case, you'll end up replacing it later having lost the contents of your disk and at greater cost. Like people who sell BF BC 2 then buy it back again when they realise they miss it...

You already have an XBox - play that for a bit. Or some single player stuff?

Like I said, it's just a reaction (over reaction more like it).

I'm enjoying the fact that I can play online, just not the lag.
