Who else is jumping ship?

I've not gone all the way overboard, I'm hanging on by my fingernails after todays purchase of a brand new XboX 360, 250gig, BFBC2 and halo reach.

So who else is giving it serious thought?

I know Chris is (not Chrisdfa), but he's going to wait it out for a week or two.
According to Sy's tweets, he's giving it a lot of thought.
According to Game, they had 4 exchanges and 2 sales in the first hour of business, so it seems there's a lot of people who are thinking of it.


Benefits of swapping? Larger user base, large collection of games available on XBL, excellent developer section, cheaper games, cheaper movies, download music and music video's directly to your xbox. Large selection of used games.
Then there's backwards compatability with the original Xbox, and there were some fucking good games on that machine. (Rose tinted specs are on).

I was going to get a xbox like i said on the 22nd of june. If these events happened or not.

The only reason i'd jump ship is if i lost my account as a outcome of this. Dont wonna lose my trophies etc.If i loose my stuff. I will be first inline with a spare 120gb. At the mo though i'll wait...

tempting, ive got like 400 quids worth of gear for exchange (already checked) if i wanted.

Could exchange, get my shit i need, games etc - i am deciding, personally not to happy at sony, just like when i was scammed on paypal - closed the account.

We know we can re-use our accounts and log back in, but they already took the details lol, this is very bothersome.

Are you sure sy? I thought £149 was just during the spring sale that ended yesterday. I looked on game site and its back to 190 and gamestation is 175..

I'm not jumping ship - I love my PS3. Identity fraud can happen to you in a shitload of ways. There was a garage down our way that scammed around £3 million by pointing a camera at the credit card machine and recording card details.

I would hope Sony learns from this, and rebuilds the network much better than before. Anything is done better in hindsight, but very few companies get the chance to go back to the drawing board.

Jumping ship is like sacking the England manager for losing in the World Cup. IMO it's more sensible to let them learn from their mistake and come back with evolved tactics.

I've changed my credit card. I'll change my password when PSN comes back online. I've got plenty of offline games to play until it does. And I get free Credit Expert membership from work, so I will be notified if anyone sets something up in my name (which is only £5 per month guys, so it might be worth it in light of recent events).

@states you are right, but i take dim views on any sort of privacy breach/scamming n all that type of stuff, i am a very careful and very private person..just not happy about it.

Okay sony had a blip, but why should i have to deal with it like everyone else, like it is "ok, we'll get over it because im a sony fan".

Have a read of twitter, the fanboys sucking on sonys lollipop are a joke, just because they ain't got money or cards linked to accounts it's all fine lol.

Personally.. on my level.. this is a principal.

The bigger picture really is IF the hackers use your details since they have everything, they could in the future try and get credit on your name, people who don't change CC info will be the most at risk..because some companies will only need a CC number for address confirmation (especically online)..this bothers me too.

What bothers me the most,why should i even trust that it will never happen again?

You could just go with top ups for the future "network cards" but they already took the info... just means i'd have to fuck about buying cards to get anything off the store.

More to the point.. i shouldn't have to pay £5 for a membership to check my credit/accounts - sony need to pay it, not me.

Maybe if i swop, i won't be freezing on all my god damn games ffs.
The only reason i am not dumping sony today is because of loyalty to the brand...but right now.. it's fucked.

So whats your view when the XBL Sever was hacked / Exploited / Data leaked out a few years ago........

And £120 a year or what ever it is for Online Access..... plus the charges ontop of that for game addons and Downloaded games.

The PS3 has paid for itsself in respect to the Xbox Live Paying Service.


Anyway i wont be jumping anywhere. if everyone gets ride of there PS3 i might just sell mine and get me a Media Player with ITV, 4OD and BBCi Player.
with the support of media playback of MKV, AVI and so on!!

I really done use the PS3 for much more than that latley

i doubt i would go anf pay for a service like £120 per year for something i would hardly every use
