We've already built a better game than Call of Duty - Battlefield 2!

As EA's CEO John Riccitiello continues to tip Battlefield 3 as being "the best product in the industry this year", the game's executive producer Patrick Bach thinks that the developer already built a better game than Call of Duty in 2010.
"I think it's based on what we did with Bad Company 2 last year, actually," said Bach when we asked him why EA thinks Battlefield 3 will outclass this year's Call of Duty, which is still to be officially announced by Activision.
"Asking the community and the reviewers which was the better game (between Bad Company 2 and Black Ops), we had the higher score.
"So we've already built a better game in theory, but I think it's just based on the trust everyone has in DICE and in us building Battlefield games in general."
But although Bach is confident he'll be more popular with the critics, he isn't prepared to discuss whether Battlefield 3 will smash Call of Duty in the sales charts.
"That's not up to me to talk about because I'm not the expert," he replied when we asked him whether he thought Battlefield 3 could outperform this year's Call of Duty commercially.
"I'm the expert in building in games so I don't know. I think there are many factors that need to click to make that happen, but then again if you have the better product, why wouldn't you?"
EA's confidence in Battlefield 3 continues to hit the headlines. Earlier in the week, EA's Marketing Director for UK & Ireland Stuart Lang told an audience of European journalists that Battlefield 3 "will be the strongest in the space this year", while Riccitiello commented that Battlefield 3 "is designed to take (Call of Duty) down."
Activision has yet to officially announce this year's Call of Duty, despite confirming that another game in the series is due in the second half of the year. The game is expected to be the first title from Activision's new studio Sledgehammer Games.
