MotorStorm Apocalypse has been delayed in the UK, and probably the rest of the world. This is down to respect for all the people in Japan who have lost their lives in the earthquake and subsequent tsunami.

SCEE to halt further shipments while SCE UK confirms UK postponement

As was speculated yesterday, Sony has confirmed that following the delay to its release in Japan, Sony will also postpone the release of PS3 racer Motorstorm Apocalypse in the UK.

"Although we have shipped the game into the channel last week, given that we are able to do so, we have chosen to postpone the launch in the UK," an SCE UK spokesperson told MCV.

"In the meantime we will continue to monitor the situation very closely."

A spokesperson for SCEE added: "We are shocked and saddened to see the impact of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and our thoughts are with all those affected, including our colleagues within the Sony family, living and working throughout Japan.

"We are very conscious of the parallels between these events and the underlying theme in Motorstorm and are doing everything we can to be as sensitive as possible to the situation. Although the game itself is already in distribution, we are ceasing any further shipments and removing as much of the marketing materials as possible."

Is it OTT to delay the game or in good taste?

It's a bit OTT to delay it worldwide, but it's in good taste to delay it in Japan.

I'm not sure about this game TBH... I've played the SP demo and one race on the beta, and don't know if I just don't like it, or just need more time with it.

It certainly doesn't immediately grab me though:
* The AI is still a suicidal wanker
* The random physics are still there, and made even worse by the messy tracks
* The tracks are really hard to tell where you're supposed to go at times

i got the first because it was a launch title and showcased the graphics, but i hated it i played it for a few days and then never again, i just couldnt handle how random the game could be, im sure it will sell loads but i cant hack the unfairness of the game
An explosion now and then is nice. Keeps the mind sharp,

^Yep, "random" pretty much sums it up perfectly :)
