I hate having to spend money just to get access to a demo, it goes against every fibre of my being. It's wrong on every level. But I had to try the 3D demo didn't I.
It does look good, not amazing because there is a MAJOR problem with crosstalk, but it was worth the time to download and 30 minutes to play the demo out.
I guess if this was the first 3D game I'd played, I'd be happy, but I can't b happy, especially after seeing the likes of Wipeout HD, Motorstorm 3D Rift and the unbelievably good Super Stardust.
The demo itself is good, even though I hate the controls, it does feel better than Killzone 2.
I played a small section of the game, and I started out as a gunner on one of the small landing craft, shooting from these things is more luck than managment, but I managed it.
Then it was on to take out some heavy AA guns on foot, then it was the jump suit thingy's, and lastly I had to take out some heavy armour with a rocket launcher.
It does look nice though when waves are crashing all around you, when you get hit by the Helghast and blood hits the screen (literally when playing in 3D), grenades take on a new life when you throw them, or when they land at your feet.
The animation looks a little off compared to the 2D demo and so does the framerate, but 3D does push the PS3 a little harder.
Overall I liked it, not as much as the other games listed above, it's down to the 3D cross talk, it really is bad, but it's only a demo, and by the time the full game is released I'm sure it'll be fixed or soon after.
