When Sony Online Entertainment announced that there'd be a $15 a month subscription charge for DC Universe Online -- the company's newest MMO -- the developers said that there'd be "roughly" monthly content updates to make that investment worth the money. Now, less than a month after its release, DC Universe Online is ready to announce February's round of goodies, and the package includes a new story mission, a new duo, and tons of extra stuff.

"What's happening in February is more like what's happening going forward -- we're going to just keep growing the thing," said Chris Cao, DCUO game director.

The only bad news is that we'll have to wait until "mid to late February" to get our hands on all this stuff, but once it's live -- with the exception of the seasonal goodies -- it's live for good.
Catwoman Content



SOE has been hyping a classic character playing a large role in this batch of content, and it turns out it's Catwoman. Selina Kyle is going to factor into a few new parts to DCUO.

* Level 30 Catwoman Episode: Here, your character will race to Gotham Museum and find Catwoman robbing the joint. Then, some ancient Egyptian artifacts turn people into lions and tigers that you have to fight. Look for five boss battles in this mission.
* Legends PVP: Catwoman will now be playable in "Play as Iconic" PVP.
* Multiplayer Race: Chase Catwoman with your friends.
* New Loot: You'll now be able to collect the "ancient Mayan Armor" and "Cat Burglar" gear.

Valentine's Day Content

Believe it or not, February is for lovers -- and now, DCUO is, too. In a rather interesting move, the Goddess of Love is pissed and has put down fountains across Metropolis. Enter one of these, and you'll be transported to a 100-person instance where you'll play as a cherub and battle "to determine the true meaning of love."

* Collectable Hearts: Completing races, participating in PVP and other actions will earn you hearts that you can use to purchase chocolates and gifts to give to other players.
* PVP Battles: Dunk the other team into the fountain.
* Love Alert: This is a four-player boss fight against the Goddess of Love, Devotion and Scorn.
* Loot: There's a new harlequin clown suit with hearts and a cherub disguise to earn.
* Mock the Boss: When you replay boss fights, you'll be able to give them "be mine" cards for Feat points.



* New Duo: A two-player Bane duo will be available for players.
* PVP Expansion: There will be a new Gotham PVP zone.
* New Tier 2 Raid: There's a new eight-player raid zone for the Batcave. You'll fight alongside Batman against Brainiac and Brother Eye.
* Buy and Sell: Auction houses will go live in the Watchtower and the Hall of Doom so that places can swap gear on a massive scale.
* Additions: New collections, races and investigations will be added.

Very true about voice chat dave, it needs sorting, but mmo's lived without voip long before voip became voip, but the point is they still need to sort it fucking out.

However in regards to the level of update i think it's good, compared to other games you buy, such as battlefield which is nothing more than a lag infested..cheat infested shit hole, the same with mw2 and cocks that are black op'd.

You pay for dlc on these games and it's broke ont he day you buy it and they never ever fix it... i'm talking value for money, you pay for what you get daily hotfixes, monthly updates and server restarts to refresh everything, it's a good thing.

Unlike alot of todays "bigger franchises" who just don't give a hoot anymore if you are happy or not lol... got your money so they don't care, this is why mmo's update to keep people buying the subs and intrested in playing.
Think of many games you buy, waste upto £45 on it, play it for amonth n go back to it whenever, that month was pretty dear...

I know i'd rather pay for a continually updated game as opposed to paying a initial £40 for a game, then a skanky £20 DLC with a few extra skins and call it "i made a game with zombie skins in it".

But here are my little niggles atm.

Issues to the servers come as a higher priority than extras.
[*]VOIP, Sort It!
[*]Loss of sound ingame, Sort It!
[*]Random Freezes, Sort It! "Understand this has been improved massivly but still"
[*]Menu Lag, Sort It
[*] Changing Stance glitch, Sort it
[*] Group Loot Window freezes, controls activate the character starts to move. Sort it
[*] Ingame Text Chat Lag, Sort it
[*] Versus Ingame Chat save setting, Sort it

Then lets add some features.

Also this level 30 Cap, I would like some news on it?
Am i waisting my time to improve this level 30, when they release it in like 3 months to level 100, and all that armour you have spent years collecting gets rendered usless.

A little info about the Capping on Level 30 i really really want!!
Is it going to be like this forever, are they going to add 10 every month......

Some of the content they are adding this month, All sounds good, but does not really want to make me pull a £10 and give it to them for it,

This level 30 thing is really a Key thing i would say.

In the BETA i recall seeing things at level 150 - 200
If this is the case, the man hours and PVP points and everything your earning and spending will all be usless if they release the cap.......

This is just My opinion, but i really do feel strong against it,

I will sub again this month, to see what happens,

I love the game, but overall at the moment i am slightly disappointed

yeah those bugs are annoying to fuck and they do need to keep fixing them, back on the voice though: beta worked 90% of the time, retail voice 0%-1%, pretty shit lol.

i must say though i dont play im impressed by the effort they have put in so far, obviously some plot lines and stories will keep things fresh,

trouble is everyone will want a cataclysm soon
