Is it important enough for me to hack at the core files to FORCE phpbb to open a new window when someone clicks a link?
You can press alt + click or shft+click to do the same thing, or right click and open in a new window.
Are we really that lazy that it must be hard coded?

If you want to link another thread then it would get confusing. Plus every window is more memory taken off your ram. Plus if I want a new window I always go right click new tab because i like tabs better than windows. Thats just me.

This way you get the best of both worlds, type the url as normal and it opens in the same window.
Or use the link2 to open in a new window.

Ok, there it is, LINK2.
to use it, you need to add text as well as the url

Code: Select all

[link2]whatever text you want,whateverurlyouwant[/link2]
Dont forget the comma, it separates the text from the url.

Example:

Code: Select all

[link2]PSPradio,http://pspradio.co.uk/[link2]
And you get:
[link2]PSP Radio,http://pspradio.co.uk/[/link2]

or http://pspradio.co.uk/

Whichever you all prefer.
