need to try setting up ICS for a friends PS3 trouble is he has 3G mobile broadband, ive warned him its pants but he cant afford it. but his windows 7 basic laptop is giving me grief, it wont display any Sharing options, now either this is down to the fact that the basic version wont allow sharing or sharing isnt being displayed as there isnt two network connections.
any suggestions?

Proxy will do **** all
Let me get this correct.
Your friend has 0 Internet,
And can only get a 3G dongle.
He would like to use the 3G dongle to get online with his PS3.
If yes to the above, then yer its possible and no proxy will help in the matter.
You dont need two Network Devices to share a connection,
1 Lan or 1 Wireless is enough,
As the 3G Dongle will create its own Network Device.
It may be a little hard to talk through,
But in my line of work, Everything is done remotely,
If your near the machine or he is, i can give you a couple of simple instructions to Connect me up, and i can help / Set it up remotely for you.
A word of advice, If he plugs the dongle into his Laptop / Desktop
and his signal is not on atleast 3 bars it will be pointless.
I have done this before when i had to wait a month or 2 to get online.
Is it was 2 bar signal i could not get enough download speed to play without Lag.
3 bar or more was Perfect.
but its very hit and miss @ times
Also what OS is it?
Windows 7 Basic? Home? Premium? etc etc

no way to access it remotely sorry, the issue is none of the sharing options are there at all they are just not where they should be. im off around later today i might just connect the ps3 to his laptop by the network cable he has and see if that sets me off on the right track.
im taking my xp laptop with me to prove a point too
