The president of Nintendo has revealed that the company was dabbling with the prospect of 3D gaming with the Gamecube. Iwata revealed that if a special liquid crystal screen was attached, then the Gamecube could show 3D images. BUT it was ruled out because the price would have been higher than the Gamecube itself. Lugi's Mansion was trialled with 3D.

So really I could say that 10 years ago I had more money than Bill Gates. It doesn't prove that I did though does it.

That's just Nintendo doing this as they get left further behind:

Forget that.
Every 5 years on the dot I think it is.
Nintendo release a new console

They change the way gaming is with the Wii

What can they come up with that makes it unique again after Sony and Microsoft have followed suit

2011 is time for the new console.
IF they follow the same time
scale as every other console they have released.

Yeah, but it will be some overpriced kiddie/female oriented bullshit designed to increase their catchment net even further. Fuck that. Unless it runs Battlefield etc I'm not interested.

Oh, and I bet the online infrastructure sucks too*.

(*Although, to be fair, Mario Kart and Monster Hunter online on the Wii was pretty damn smooth. Just no features like [easy] friends system, or messaging)
