My humble and now ancient (almost fit for Tony Robinson and friends) ipod has died. I bought it nearly 5 years ago just after the 60gig video ipod was launched, for what it's worth now, I could launch it down the street.
But all is not lost, I have extended warranty!!!
Or so I thought, I've just taken it back to my local Currys store and they tell me I cancelled the policy 2 years ago? WTF?
So ok I thought, I'll check my bank statements when I get home, and low and behold, a direct debit for £2.49 going back at least 12 months. So now I have a reference number, statements proving they're taking the money and a phone number to call.
If it's a mistake and it gets my ipod repaired/replaced, fine, if not..."There maybe trouble ahead".

They will probably repair it no doubt, but thats not what I'm counting on. Last time I sent it away it was gone for 5 weeks and 5 days, at a full 6 weeks, it's replaced FOC, you see, they forgot to send it away.theENIGMATRON wrote:They will repair the unit if they have parts in stock,

So this time I wont remind them.
What they do then is issue vouchers to the value of a brand new 60gig video. The nearest alternative now it £193. So thats the value I should get in vouchers, but they can be spent on ANYTHING.

I'm definately not covered for any repairs.
The direct debit was for something else, my PSP. But the price was the same.
Ah well, they didn't say why the warranty ended, but it was 3 years old at the time, so maybe I just took a 1+2 warranty.
So now I need a new HDD for my ipod. Probably not easy to find them these days.
