Hello David,
Thank you for writing to eBay. I understand your concern about the
charges on your account.
After looking into your account details, I confirmed that your account
is suspended due to non payment of £67.00 in connection to the following
case in the resolution centre. I can also confirm that your account has
an automatic payment method of PayPal. Please note that your account has
the due amount of £4.38 for account activities.
1. Item # 150477306599 - Item does not math description - Reimbursement
charge £67.00.
Please note that as we could note receive the valid proof from your side
regarding the description of the item, we have made the decision in the
favor of buyer. Buyer has provided the valid tracking information of
shipment of the item. So, soon you will have the item back with you.
According to the policy we have refunded the buyer and seek
reimbursement from you. eBay will provide refund directly from a
seller's PayPal account, where this was the method of payment. If we're
unable to recover the amount of the refund from you, you may be asked to
provide an alternative reimbursement payment method.
As your account had not reimbursement payment method to pay, we could
not get any payment and hence we have transferred your account to the
collection agancy IQOR for the payment.
As your account has been outsourced to a collection agency, there are
additional charges added to the amount owed on your account. These are
charged directly by the collections agency and I'd suggest that you
contact them directly for further clarification.
I suggest you to contact them directly about any issue related payment.
You can find the contact information from the letter you receive from
them.
For the future reference I suggest you to setup a reimbursement payment
method to avoid such situation.
To setup a Reimbursement payment method follow these steps:
Logon to http://www.ebay.com
Signin using your eBay User ID and Password
Once you signin, it will take you to a landing page
On the landing page, you will see a notice that your account is
Suspended
Also, you will see a link to 'Set up your reimbursement payment method'
Click on the link and follow the instructions to update a reimbursement
payment method
In case if you are not able to get this link then you would see a visit
the 'Resolution Center' link
Click on the 'Resolution Center' link, it will take you to the
Resolution Center
On top of the Resolution Center page, you will get a link 'Set up your
reimbursement payment method'
Click on the 'Set up your reimbursement payment method' link and follow
the instructions
To find out more about reimbursement copy this link into a new browser
window:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/reimbursement.html
Once you make the full payment in full your account will be reinstated.
I hope I have explained everything clearly, if not, feel free to write

Kind regards,
Tom Kapp

Here is my Response:
I was thinking of having it more like this:
I have not submitted it yet, so if you think i should change anything please adviseI appreciate someone finally contacting me back after 3 months endless contacts.
So please explain to me, Why this debit has been passed to a 3rd party company.
Who are now going to charge more fees for handling the case.
When i have been attempting to contact you about the situation for 3 months.
And Regardless of the Phone calls. or emails or your live chat system, no one ever contacted me back.
So because of your policy and lack of communications your now telling me there is extra fees on top of the current one?
I have sold a Phone, The Buyer had a problem, a case was opened and a Refund went in his favour.
Ebay took the money off me, (Even though i have not received the phone as of yet)
3 Months later you finally get in touch after the countless number of attempts to get in touch.
And say your debit has been passed to a 3rd party company, who will now also accrue further charges for handling it.
Am sorry but your system is a disgrace.
Just out of interested. when was the last time You went into a shop, and asked for a refund on an item you bought, Got one and never give the item back?....... Never maybe?
I suggest we try and resolve this properly, without involving 3rd party company's and trying to charge me even more, considering this has now already cost me £120 or more to sell a £60 phone on ebay.
Your costing me more and more money.
If your not willing to solve this properly i will have no objections to taking matters into my own hand.
Am sure NSW Department of Fair Trading would be interested in hearing this story
or any media company's too.
What you have done is not right.
I was thinking of having it more like this:
I suggest we try and resolve this properly, without involving 3rd party company's. If you still wish to involve 3rd party company's
ill be happy to get in touch with NSW Department of Fair Trading
and see if they have anything to add to the matter.
I suppose some publishing in the media world would not do too much harm as-well.
I can now understand why more and more people move away from selling on ebay

No, your first response is spot on. Do you have any record of emails you have sent them or anything? That could help too...
Maybe that cunthole buyer should be dragged back into this...? How does it take 3 months to return an item? Especially as eBay have already refunded him.

i reckon the buyer was a scammer.
You don't owe any money until you get the item back either.

They were undoubtably scammers...
Seems the buyer gets the love and the seller gets fucked as far as eBay is concerned.

Although that story is an extreme circumstance, it happens quite alot.
It's a shame really because ebay can be ok for some stuff but it's these scammers that ruin it and for that reason alone..its something that damages ebay's rep.
For me i am a last of a dying breed who likes to speak to the person i am getting goods from, same with digital downloads of games and music, i like to have the physical goods not some electronic record of it.
Where there is money to be made like ebay, there is also alot of cowboys and internet scams.

1. Passiing the debt onto a 3rd party company without your persmission or notification. BAD MOVE EBAY.
2. If the buyer has failed to return the phone after receiving a refund, thats your bad. BAD MOVE DAVE. Always get the product back BEFORE issuing a refund. Or state NO REFUNDS NO RETURNS clearly in the auction.
3. £100 will get you a day in the small claims court, I know its even more expense, but the chances are you will get the £100 back, and the phone and ebay fees, and possibly the refund you have issued. The person who bought the phone will not turn up and full liability will be on them and ebay.
4. Where does the stealing motherfucker live? Please tell me it's Yorkshire!

Ebay Ruled the refund in there favour without my say so, they opened a case.
So i had no say so in the matter.
Small claims sounds good, i wonder what they say if i take them to that.
question is what if i loose, it costs me just $100 or is there going to be court costs etc

You might loose, but if the buyer doesn't turn up, and ebay solicitors dont turn up, then you win.
The small claims court will probably also force a refund of the court charges too, they hate people who cant be bothered to turn up.
They can also issue a warrant for the arrest of the buyer if they think fraud has been committed.
Or you could make a claim of fraud at your local police station, then you have to go to court and it wont cost you anything.

It's either fraud and/or stealing seeing as now you're out of pocket with no phone. Do what Daz says, Dave, but I'd go to the police rather than pay more for court.Dazbobaby wrote:You might loose, but if the buyer doesn't turn up, and ebay solicitors dont turn up, then you win.

I'd also get a second (more professional) opinion from the Citizen's Advice Bureax. It's a pain in the arse to get in touch with them, but it's free and they usually know their shit.

Now I'm having a problem with the buyer of my PVR.
Just as I thought.Dear dazbobaby,

workin?
http://www.mess-hall.co.uk/forum/viewto ... 034#p17034
Well, my response:
Given his excellent spelling and gramar skills I'd hazard a guess at someone who doesn't know one end of a mouse from another, so getting the PVR to work will be a challenge.Dear ....
I can assure you that before I sent it out it was working.
In fact just a couple of days before I advertised it on ebay I made a couple of youtube video's.
Both were captured on the PVR from a PS3.
I'm sorry that you are havin problems getting it to work, all I can suggest is either contact hauppauge directly or use their excellent support forums at http://www.hauppauge.co.uk
