what di u expect the pvr to go for about 80-100?

Xbox around £70 hopefully more for both.

When you record do you need to have a Application running to capture the video feed and record?

@Dave, yes you need an application running. The PVR does not capture internally, it only captures to a computer.
Did you even look at the link, the software is free for mac.

yerr i doesnt look like i can afford it man, have about 60quid in my bank 'spending money' which isn't anywhere near enough, then ive also started seeing a new girl so thats more $$$'s aswell.
