Thats it for me, I'm doing a 007 and giving up.
I'm getting pissed of with buggy laggy unpatched games, I no longer feel fulfilled when I play, I just get wound up and take it too seriously.
I've just destroyed another disc - Black ops, not even two weeks old.
It's getting too expensive to carry on like this.

I made my choice the week before black ops, I traded ALL my games at BB and decided that if BO was going to be the same lag/camp/snipe fest, then that would be it.
Well, thats it. All I'll play from now on are movies, music, and the odd decent PSN game.

Sorry to see you go mate, although that was a fairly pre-loaded ultimatum: it was pretty much a given that CoD would be a laggy campfest...

If you can scrape together a grand or so, maybe get into iPhone development? Or Android development? Something constructive...you've obviously got the skills.

Funny you should mention it though, I am currently reading Hackers, about the early days of computers, PDP-1 PDP-6 TXO's and the like, and I wondered if they could do it without instructions, experience and any guidance, I might be able to do something similar but no where near as good though.
The original programmers found that the inbuilt compilers were crap, slow, and completely insuffucient, so they made their own starting with assembly.

Why don't you try a new game like an rpg/action genre, demons souls, fallout, upcoming dc universe, something from the usual, get apache air assault, something that isn't based on a fps or racing or something opposite of what you would buy.

everything is always a fps, maybe this is part of the problem.

No the problem is me, and that PS3 gaming peaked with BFBC1.
I really dont have any money for games this close to Christmas, and I have a project to save up for after Christmas, so in any case it'd be while before I do have any cash.

PSN games all the way for now. With any luck a few months of chilling out, a bit of cash in my pocket, and a decent 2011 list of games and I'll be back.

But if I can get used to now playing, or get another interest (instructables) ...

its a shame your giving up mate, the games have stagnated a bit for me, black cocks is pretty rubbish SP and i havnt even been online yet, i will be soon but i expect to be bum raped.

on another note and dont take this as criticism because ive done it too. smashing up and breaking disks, boxes or gamepads while stress relieveing at the time is not a good sign, yes i did it to my pad because of HAWX 2 but i link it to other problems, for me i think my last job made my fuse extra short and everyone knows me for my bad temper as much as my good nature, once i'd had a bad day and while putting my shopping on the counter in my kitchen one thing fell out of the bag and the whole contents just followed, to say i went batshit crazy was a understatement, i just snapped and gravity takin the piss was the last straw :XD i threw shit about and punched the kitchen door so hard i dented it and wrecked me knuckles.

modern gaming like modern life is a frustrating activity, give me a pause menu and i'd hit restart from beginning :yuush:

i blame my job for ruining my good character but thats me i wont sit here and pyschoanalyse people or criticise other people but if its possible you loosing your rag with the games is linked to something else its worth trying to patch that up

I do know what you mean.
Am feeling much like that myself, and have been for some time.

With BFBC2 boring me alot. It was an effort to put it on.
The only reason i played it, was because i enjoy playing with Mates,
And most of the frequent buddies i play online with Play BFBC2
I feel i must.

The more enjoyment i got out of it was Acting like a fool in it,
It was just nice chatting and entertaining myself

Black Ops.... I feel less of an effort to play this but again only because its new,
Am not getting much Satisfaction out of playing it.

I was looking forward to Gran Turismo, But again with the PS3 on its way out i aint investing in no more games.

If lovefilm send it to me, Bonus ill play it, but i doubt that will happen.
(I would expect it to, as its been on my list since the day they announced it, and there is nothing els on my list available for rental.
So maybe

I really enjoyed gaming, but i duno.... i just dont have the same feeling playing it.

Daz, do you like top-down hack 'n' slash RPG games like Diablo, Baldur's Gate (PS2, not PC) and Champions of Norrath?

I honestly don't know, but I can tell you I'm not into RPG's. The argument that all games are really Role Playing Games aside, even the crossover borderlands I enjoyed, but not for long.

TBH, I'm finding plenty to do around the house to keep me occupied, I've also noticed that I'm no where near as tense, and I'm getting back into listening to music for the sake of it, and not just as an alternative soundtrack.
