Bad news..

A few people off my list are saying the game is full of camping, you spend most of your time looking for players because they are all in windows and buildings..waiting.

:wow: not a good sign at all.

I've not had anyone compliment the game yet..it's all been very negative. "camping", "corner camping", "laggy" "death lag" and this to me sounds exactly what the beta turned into.

LOL bless your optimism Dave - I find games that I've got early are better before the monkey masses arrive.

I bought CoD4 on day 1 and it was super sweet for about a week. Then word spread - and the rest is history...

The inclusion of the Taliban in Medal of Honor has riled up the media, family members of veterans, and the military itself. On top of these groups, it's also affected the outspoken David Jaffe. On his Twitter page, Jaffe writes the following:

Interesting. Just tried MOH multiplayer and they spawned me as Taliban and I simply could not play. I would not shoot. Wanted a surrender button. I **** you not. The power of interactive. Granted, 99% of the power stems from real world events that I bring to the game, but it's a start.Totally serious. Why would I want to play as the Taliban killing American soldiers? I just didn't want to do it. Am I a ***?!?! :)

He continues:

I'm not trying to blow smoke up the game's ass - like I said, 99% of the power is coming from real world knowledge I bring into the game so I'm not here all like 'interactivity is so ****ing emotional!' Just stating my reaction.

Comparing Medal of Honor to Modern Warfare 2's infamous "No Russian" mission, Jaffe tweets:

Not even close. I was impressed by No Russian but didn't care one bit about mowing the peeps down. Hell, I wanted to see what kind of death animations they had in No Russian. Not sure why this affected me more.

Wrapping up his thoughts for now:

I'm not thinking at all; just a gut reaction to the game. I think the game should 100% exist and they SHOULD be Taliban BUT I also think that because there is an ongoing conflict RIGHT NOW and innocents on both side are dying as well as soldiers, it's something I do not want to role play with other live people. It just felt strange to me. I assure you, I don't over think this sort of stuff. I tend to think gaming's claims of the power of interactivity is - in general- hyperbolic bull****. That's why I posted - this was a unique experience for me.

I mean WTF? He's cool with murdering innocent people in "No Russian" (something I still cannot do), he's probably fine playing GTA featuring drugs, murder, prostitution, carjacking, and killing with cars. But he can't play as a member of a fictional group of so called terrorists and shoot fictional American soldiers? (American Elite soldiers - dont make me laugh).

I've been reading various reviews and all are very positive. 8's and 9's all over.

I agree with Dave though, there will be lag as most of the servers are US because they got their launch last week.
Which also explains the campers, they know the American elite forces are due to show up, so they're keeping a low profile incase the yanks try to rescue them and end up killing their own.

thats right, ruse aint that great.
Only good if you like strategy.

For a fps, anything below 80 is something to worry about as a whole.

LOL ummm.... don't really know how to respond to that. Especially after the praises you gave it at launch. I guess any game is only good if you like the genre.

Explains why you and Dave have stopped playing it I suppose.

I like RUSE - what i am saying is.. ruse is a niche market, a fps isn't..

If RUSE can pull in a better score than a mainstream genre, what is that telling you?
I will get it tomorrow, if the game is shit, i'll tell you all about it. :)

On another note.. anytime u and sherb want to play some games with myself n dave..hit us up on psn even if we ain't playing RUSE.

Sweet :)

I've got an Australian mate who would be up for some games too. I'm on RUSE every night, so just let me know when you're up for it.

I've probably learned a trick or two since we last played, although you'll have that "random" element, as I'm not used to your technique.

Feel free to use as much arty as you like though - I now love arty spammers...Yum yum :ninja:

I know - it's considered similar to the wall hack in CoD, although is not effective.

A) you have to micro-manage the planes so will probably get hit else where

B) it's easily countered with AA units around the base (or camo net if you don't send a recon plane too)

C) it only works once, if at all
