I posted this in the ea forum:
RE: Totally and utterly bored..

.. A combination of playing only a few maps i like and what DICE give us to play.

If i play atacama i get bored, it's like being a robot, get heli fly to flags, get flags, goto base, kill and win.

If i play other maps without friends..it's pointless, you can't win games on your own, all you can do is c4 crates..because even if you arm them, no team mates are ever there to help you keep it armed.

If you're defending on rush, on the maps i play it's a sniperfest and they never disarm crates, it's like they are mostly brain dead and have no idea what is going on.

Too many of these types of games recently and i get bored.

All the maps seem to just play the same lately, same routes, same tactics, same people, same way how the game plays out.
I knoe all the maps and what happens in them.. gets old..
Today or (just) i was playing and i thought - this is proper boring and give up and came n posted this.

What do u guys think about how the game plays right now?
You finding it the "same old, same old".. i've hardly played recently compared to my hours n hours since release.

I never play this game on my own anymore, need my friends to play, and even then it gets boring after 20 minutes.
Thoughts? Seriously ALL the maps i play, rush or conquest are always predictable, nothing to keep me playing much at the moment tbh.

Maybe you shouldn't have played it more than everyone else in the UK put together then? :)

I'm looking forward to the Vietnam DLC - that should liven things up. Plus, you've got RUSE to while away the hours...

Yer i do know where you are coming from.

I don't play it as much, But its sort of same old, different day,
Same tactics,
Same op-roach to everything.

I would not say i am fedup of it,
But i would not say i rush to go and play the game no more,

With the uk version of Demon Souls, i aint really played bfbc2 much, i think i got half way up a rank in all that time

But every game is like that over time...even the first Bad Company.

I think BC2 lasted less time because it is similar to BC1 so it's going to take less time to get stale. Same thing for MW and MW2. I guess it's an inherent problem with sequels, although it just happens quicker for sequels than originals...

I think alot of boredom comes from the fact of playing the game for alot of hours, but it's not just that, it's the maps that bother me.

If i'm not on atacama, i'm on isla innocentes or port valdez, if not on them i might be on arica harbour.

But i don't like the other maps.

If i join some ppl off my list they don't even notice, they are sitting on port valdez hill sniping on attack with 200 points, u can't win games when half your team seems not to care for objectives.

THE maps are linear as fuck, they funnel you into areas, for the action..also it's a combination of knowing the game/players to well now.
Every map is just samey in regards to how it all plays out.

@inifinite as for bad company 1, yeah i got bored of that.. but oasis and end of the line offered alot of routes and ways to flank, no game was ever the same for those 2 maps, but in bfbc2, i couldn't name a map that gives me immersion.

Maybe takin a break from bf - might give me a bit of an urge to plaay lol.
Do i get cod? hmm.. maybe.

You know you'll hate Call of Duty pretty damned quick.
6 was good until the hackers came into it, they've gone now, but there are still a lot of WTF? HTF? No fucking way moments. Me and Chris play a lot of Lan games against each other and we laugh and joke all the time, and it's tit for tat all the time. We played CTF on highrise and it was 57 kills for 56 deaths but we laughed like crazy men.

I'm pretty sure I wont bother with Cod 7, but there are so many new features that it might be worth getting.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this... The maps in BC2 feel narrower, and as such there are not as many options to flank. But on something like End of the Line, you pretty much had to watch 360 most of the time.

It could be argued that Oasis was pretty linear, but it was still wide enough to allow flanking.

Maybe it's down to the increased memory required for building desctruction? Narrowing the map is one way of reducing the hit while allowing the same kind of length...

Yeah pirelli who is a dice map creator admitted that alot of maps are technically designed due to 24 players+destruction+decent graphics is at console max capacity.. perhaps they will get rid of this full destruction for the next game.

I don't know why the don't just do bc1 destruction or even 1943, don't need house falling down at acost of map performance on memory.

If you play atacama or port valdez conquest, you know damn well you're gunna freeze once those houses start toppling.

LOL unlike End of the Line, which was as stable as, errr, the San Andreas Fault.
:)

I don't see why it's so demanding - it's not like the building collapse is procedural. They're just stock collapsing animations after X amount of holes have been created in a support floor...

I think i break is just needed (in reply to the first Post)

Its been a while since i played BFBC2,

And i went online (After we all finished on RUSE)
I went lone wolf and could not be assed with gathering a group together

and i did enjoy myself,
I had 6 games, Started on Akama And i wopped the base rapping bitches ass took them both down (rank 50 followed by a tea bag)

Walked up and i was on the Killing spree, i from from Base to C without dying and getting like 10 - 15 kills to no deaths, taking out 2 tanks a buggy and a chopper.

continued on ground for a bit, i was fed up with seeing there chopper getting taken out every 5 minutes (only 80 tickets left)
Took there chopper and few around for a bit, Lag Free :-)

Folled the server on other maps, and had a good few rounds, was on a right run lone wolf aswell and i did enjoy it.

Mag i fort was good, but i only started to enjoy it after me and bigmooneyfc played it for like 10 or more hours and got to know the maps and weapons.

I got thinking about Bad Company 1 and some of there Wider Maps States said :-) And its fair point, and it almost made me want to fire up the old Bad COmpany and flank some people and have a choice where i want to go :-)

(Never realy fort of it untill you bought it up, but spot on)
