Well none! and i will explain why now!

Apple / Iphone / Ipod Touch have always been top in the market
with the Interface the there wide selection of Games and Apps!!

I have a Ipod and i like it! its Fun it keeps me busy.

So my Nokia N97 Broke on me (Thank fook for that lol)

So i was like Really i need a phone now what do i get Arrrrr!!

I really fort about Iphone4, but Really why do i want to buy a Malfunctioned Phone,
and whats so different from there original phone? Very little
Same Platform, Same Features (Wooow Multitasking to a limit)

So i decided not to, i went for a Sexy looking phone

HTC Desire, and Desire i did

The shop would not let me test it (As it needed activating there and then and they had no test ones)
Went to a couple of other shops and same none in stock.

So i went back and went Ok, Give it to me LOL (Known if i hate it i cannot exchange it stupid Policy)

Got home Put it on, and OMG!!!!! OMG is all i can Say to explain this Phone,

The Hardware is Fast, and i mean Fast!!!!!!! I can put this in comparision to the Iphone / Ipod Touch Speed if not faster

And this phone is designed to Multitask with Push email weather and widgets and everything,
Its a Sexy Design with Sexy Features
Its Customizable to how you want (Hey Open Source)
No more phone that everyone els has

I would rate this phone a 10/10 its so amazing,
but as with everything good something bad is needed to straightin it out,
And Yes the battery life is poor,
For me just as poor as my N97 but it has no effect for me, but lasts 1 day!!!


So today i unlocked it away from Orange and have Unbranded there crap on it,
rooted the phone and flashed it with Custom firmware (Wooow Homebrew tweaks hehe)

Man out of all the phones i have had this has to top them all, speed looks everything,

So this is my profetic effort of a review lol

It may be awesome, but it's like a fantastic new OS coming out for PCs. The market is too dominated to be able to claw back... Especially when you consider Apple's integration into iTunes and all that other shit.

Sys For a phone i would say HTC Desire
I could never go back its freaking amzing,

I would highly recommend it Sys


Seddon i already have the New Firmware
Go to google and search for XDA Developers,
These are the guys who Customise the Firmwares Big Community

I have Defrost Firmware, and Yes its got Froyo 2.2 on it
Ill post some screen shots of the Phone later,

BTW The Round Battery is a MOD and i just updated it to show a % so i know how much power i have in my batter down to the 1 in 100

And regardless what i chuck at this phone i have not seen the speed drop!!!!!!

i was more aiming at the Fact this phone is the biggest competitor due to speed and flexibility, and Apps and everything for it

@dave, i need a decent free exchange email client for android that works, touchdown by nitrodesk works great but it 30 day trial and i'm getting bored of uninstalling/reinstalling it every month to get another 30 days use out of it

the free stuff on market don't work on my hero! the built in exchange client dont work either!!

Both are cracked, so its the Paid Version
To Install:
Copy to Memory Card (Put USB mode in Disk Drive)
Go to Market Store and Download File Manager
Locate the Files on your Memory Card!

You should get an error saying unable to install (Untrusted Code or something)
You can a Settings and a Cancle option,
Click Settings and Make a Tick Install Apps from Untrusted Developers,

Job done!!

i'm only running android 1.5 or 1.6, t-mobile supposedly testing in-house 2.1/2.2 before they release the update over the air

i use seismic as my twitter app, like the pc version, comfortable with the droid version

if you drive dave, try out the satnav on google maps with gps enabled, quite cool

Latest Proper Version 2.1
Get all your Features on the Market store that say need root access

No more waiting for Tmobile to release the never ever!!!

Ill help as much as i can, but have a read over there and update your Firmware,

Aslong as you can read, have a cuppa coffie and a pack of hob nobs to much on,
Spend the time doing a little reading
and before you know it you will have your Original Rooted Uptodate Firmware,

(The firmware is not illegal BTW the sexyness of Open Source!!! )

With all due respect mate, I don't think the average user will get as excited as you over the kinds of apps you describe. I think iTunes compatibility and the app store gives an untouchable market lead.

dave once your phone is rooted and you reboot the phone normally, turn off then on does it not reflash with the factory firmware?

No as you are flashing the phones firmware.
Your basically flashing original firmware but it modded
With a program with root access that mean you can write too system files
Unlike original firmware
W iththat its easy too flash custom roms

but in short no,
Ther only difference you may see is a new app called root access our some thing like that

I am aware that Apple hold and Untouchable market due to the size of it,
that's not the statement i was aiming at,
The Biggest Iphone Competitor,
Look at the smartphones over the year, and look at what got labled the Competitor to the Iphone,
and they where all Flops i had 2 of them, 1 was ok but still crap,
This phone was labled a Competitor and it does,
As i was saying Hardware and Software its all there other than the battery life,
but you cannot have everything

Again this does not mean i am trying to say this will wipe out the Iphone Market,
Far from it, but if you where to pick a phone out that is just as good as the iphone this would be it.



Seddon i can Explain a little better, i was on my phone no net lol

You have on there the Original ROM, I Guess its been edited by Tmobile and you have all there crap on it!

Rooten the Phone does the following:

Delete that ROM you have on there, and Replace it with an Original ROM,
The only difference is it has been edited to have a Program pre Installed
The program is called: Super User Permissions,

All this lets you do is install things to the Main System files (Something you could not do with the Original ROM)
And Having a Rooted ROM on your Phone, this mean you can Very Eastly flash your phone with a Different ROM,

I have 4 Different ROMS for the HTC Desire, and i have Files on my SD Card that let me jump into recovery with the menu to flash my phone on the move
While on the way to work (Walking that it) i flashed my phone with another 2 different Roms,
Am just looking for that all and all perfect match

The only downside to the ROMS at the moment is the Custom ones have Froyo,
And dont think there is much Widget support for it at the moment
