Codayop sent me an email asking what I do for a living.
I'm an out of work Class 1 HGV driver/PC technician.
I was sacked after injuring my back just before christmas. I'd not been there long, so yes, they could get rid.
So for the second time in 6months, I'm on the dole, this is the second time in 20years. I'm no benefit scrounger/chav.
fucking hate it.
So what do you do for a living, and can you get me a job?
Work
I work for an ISP on inbound sales. If you phone me I will sell you a telephone line and broadband package. I like it because I am interested in PC's etc.. so I get to talk to people about broadband all day, best of all - they call me I don't have to call out.
Can't say which ISP because I will get roasted at work if they find out.
I have been on the dole many times over the years mate. Don't let it get you down. If I were you I would look for something other than driving, It might aggrivate your back pain.
My problem was always booze, when I was out of work I would start drinking earlier and earlier in the day.
I'm glad to say, when I got back to work I sorted myself out. But it wasn't easy. Wife was a big help tho.

That was an email sent to Redoute customers. (you know, those annoying fucking things you get that go straight in the bin?)

I've just watched Mirror's with Keifer Sutherland - Good film.codayop wrote:I'm an out of work videographer doing freelance work from home until next week when I will be data inputting.

It makes me wonder the nightmare cameramen have filming stuff like this.
All the problems with lighting and especially angles with all those mirrors around.

Leeds? Yes.
But grew up (hahaha) in Dewsbury, which is like a mini Bradford.

Havent seen it.
But my work is small fry in comparison. My last 3 jobs involved 2 cameras, 2 lights. The editing is the time consuming thing as my work is community based not Commercial/Entertainment.
Eventually yes, that would be nice, to work on set somewhere, but I've a long way to go.

Seddon, what purely out of curiosity, would it cost me (PM me if you like) to clean my system up?
Its not a major set up by any means.
Its quite slow and enjoys crashing, I keep it relatively clean and use CCleaner to sort any reg problems on a regular basis.
I havent updated with sp3 yet as I'm worried my editing software may not work as its quite old (Premiere Pro CS3, Audition CS2 etc etc)
Basics-
xp running sp2
AMD Athalon 64 x 2AMD 3800+ 2.10 GHz. 2GB RAM.
GeForce 7300 GT
Barracuda 7200 SATA 320HDrive
I know I'm building a rod for my own back with the amount of progs I have running on this thing, (lots) AND lack of harddrive space is down to 30%, AND I have 2 partitions for some reason when I set it up 3 years ago I only gave my C drive 25 Gig.!>!>!??? So I'm constantly shuffling stuff around to make space.
Pain in the nads.
Any way, you say how much? (not that I can afford, as we've got Glastonbury to pay for this month!)

All the website you've been looking at belongs to my wife, she's the Graphic Designer. Clever Lady.
I help with the odd artwork amendment or basic vector animation (check the top logo)

i would charge you £51.06 plus VAT (£58.72 inc. VAT)
i would reinstall windows and all programs for you
i have adobe master collection cs3 which can be supplied - this should work on sp3
if the crashing persists after the reinstall this may indicate a hardware issue
i would do away with the partition - have 2 hard drives - 1 for the os and programs and the other for your data

WOW. Thats so tempting. I'll start backing my files up now, should be ready for you by December!Seddon wrote:i would charge you £51.06 plus VAT (£58.72 inc. VAT)

Seriously though, if we got the cash I'll give you a buzz next month or so.
nice one, thanks.

Thats a good price Seddon, I was about to say that 'Partition Magic' can re-size the system partition on-the-fly, but it would cost almost what you are asking to buy it new. And it would not do any of the extras. Better to let an expert handle the job.
