hmmmm yes and no..
I have only played as a Lone wolf as you may say 4 times and that was at stupid oclock in the morning and today.
but i have been using the Game Mode Mosh Pits,
And i find it pretty good, its a mix and mash of all the games if you dont know, one minute you in deathmatch, then dominator, headquarters, and then Free for all,
I had a gole for myself to hit rank 50, and i hit it today, so i can see the effects wearing off for me, its no the same type of game i can play over and over again like BFBC, what kept me going was the ranks,
EUK007, No Lagg or very rarly, and no TKing, but teamwork in games like this is hard...
Hard more because its a small maps with X players, by the time i say someothing to a teammate
Like watchout behined you, 5 seconds later when the comms get to them he had died and respawned lol
In other words very close combat, bfbc is not.
but still a very good game

I really enjoy it and im not a big fan of the Call of duty series apart from Zombies on WaW. I do agree there are alot of camping jerks but you can find them on good ol' BFBC as well with automatic shotguns or sniping on a remote island.Symonator wrote:So after a week on ps3 and a few days on 360 versions.. this is what i'm thinking..

I thought it might keep me going for a few months at least. COD4 did.
But I already know it wont.
I might pick it up and play now and again, and enjoy it. But 5 months worth of play? Nope, never gonna happen.

I feel exactly the same. I have not played it online for nearly as long as you guys (I think I'm rank 6 or so), but in my limited time I can already see that this game will be no where near as playable in the long term online for me...theDAZBOMEGATRON wrote:I thought it might keep me going for a few months at least. CoD4:
Maps were incredibly well designed: there weren't a lot of camping spots (if any in some cases), most locations had a couple of routes to them and the maps were a comfortable size.
Unlocks were really well balanced: there were a lot of nice things you could unlock over the course of the ranks which was a great motivator, but the essential thing is, you could compete effectively at rank 1. Also, kill streak perks were a nice rarity (relatively).
CoD6:
Maps: admittedly, I'm not familiar with the maps and have only played on a sub-set, but they seem bigger, easier to hide in and more open (to snipers).
Unlocks: this is my biggest issue. You can still sort of compete at level 1, but you feel very much more the underdog, so even if I bothered hitting the maximum rank, I don't think I would choose prestige in this game. But the spamming of aerial offences is what really gets me. Now you can't go for 30 seconds without there being something in the air trying to kill you. It was a minor annoyance in CoD4 to have to hide from a chopper periodically, but in 6 it is almost constant. And tedious.
One massive plus for CoD6 that I discovered last night though, is SpecOps co-op on veteran. Give that a try - it's fucking awesome

I suspect if/when I have platinumed this game it will be consigned to the book shelf and dusted off now and then when my brother comes over. As I've said before - roll on BF: BC2...

Well hopefully I'm borrowing MW2 tonight so I can give you my 2 cents worth.
Which means I am so spoilt...
-got Fifa 10 (I know you lot dont get it, but its fun to me), Tekken 6 (again, this is a stayer, you will be back), BC2 Beta, and now MW2.
A mate has also leant me Gears of War 2 for XBox (Lodger has Xbox - not me) and thats quite deep too.
PLUS, I'm thinking about trying MAG. What is the feeling on the Mess Hall re MAG. Is it worth it, is it any good?

Personally I dont like mag. I tried to like it, but the very poor graphics, poor frame rate, and impossibly big games just dont work for me.
If anyone remembers Nova Logic's Joint Operations, thats the kind of game that MAG is.
Too big, looks naff, plays ok though.
The smaller game types however do work.

Well if they havent improved the graphics since I saw the first vids then thats quite sad.
I remember watching jittery grenades and half finished buildings.
Sure, gameplay is what keeps you interested in a game, but if the graphics are shit then its not going to keep you for long.
Maybe we've been spoilt now what with BC2 and MW2.
Played Capcom v Marvel 2 yesterday after about 45 mins of download (200Meg file!!! plus updates) what a crock of shit. Poor graphics, very poor animation - deleted it quick sharp.

I should give the MAG beta another shot before they close it. I haven't played in ages and it was ok when I did - not amazing, but ok.
All last week, 90% of the people in my friendslist that were online were playing MW2. Last night, when I logged off, there were 13 people online - only 2 of them were playing MW2. One was playing single player, and the other was playing SpecOps.
I guess I'm not the only one that feels a bit "meh" about the online component of it. There's just too many CoD4 whores camping and spamming aerial offensives for my tastes. It has it's moments, but I've got so much shit to play, MW2 just hasn't got the staying power to keep me interested. I wish I still had more SpecOps to complete though - that was where I got my money's worth...

Its lost its appeal and has become OK - COD is not a high franchise on my list anyway so it got boring quicker for me..
I think i might give killzone 2 another blast though aswelll as mag.
