Do you believe in coincidence?

Shortly after my dad died (2003), I decided that PCWorld was no longer the place for me. Both brother-in-laws where Class 1 drivers and convinced me to give it a try.

So first up you have to pass the class 2 test, the 17.5 tonne rigid body trucks, or as class 1 drivers call them... skateboards or toy trucks.

2 weeks after passing my test I was sent to Preston for a delivery, I made my drop, parked up, had some dinner, and set off back to Leeds. But before I left Preston I saw a Mercedes going the same way as me, nothing special there then. But what is special, and to this day I've never seen it since... is the licence plate - TAG 666W

Obviously a private plate given that this was a new Merc and it was an old T-reg plate. But that's not the slap in the face that I had. The slap came from the licence plate itself. You see my dad taught me to drive in a green two tone Ford Cortina, licence plate - TAG 666W.
Significant or what?

With nearly 40 million cars on the road in the UK, spotting that one car with that one registration, so soon after my dad dying... it cannot be a coincidence, and like I said, to this day I've not seen it since.

I took a photo of the plate at the next set of lights and I showed it to the family who were all as shocked and amazed as me. But I've long since lost the pic, sorry guys.

I also called the police, just in case the car was a ringer, they confirmed that it had been purchased from the DVLA, it was registered to a Silver Merc, and it used to belong to a ford cortina.
