Has anyone watched them?

Watched the past couple. The one with placebo an the zombie one.
What's your thought on it?

I understand to a level how it can be real. but I also understand how much something is directed.

Look at xfactor. Everything is done down to the T retake after retake.

I just don't know what to make of his shows.
Actors? Real people. Aware of the situation etc.

Can he really put someone to sleep / hypnotise
I know before the show is done he supposedly does this hypnotising off stage so he can quickly do it by covering there eye or saying a safe word.

Am interested in what you think or have to say.

I absolutely think he's real. He has to choose the people carefully - they're not always susceptible. But I think the process is well understood (at least by spies n shit).

He gives me the creeps though. Like paedophile type creeps. I think it's the beard...

I watched Part 1 of both of them, I still need to see part 2 of Zombies and am waiting for part 2 of fear and faith.
But have a listen to Hypnosis: tricks of the mind by Darren Brown, it sounds so easy to hypnotise people, and like everything done with hypnosis it's all about suggestion.

But if it was that easy, everyone would do it.

Is it real? Yes.

There are 2 individual minds in the brain, the concious and the unconscious mind. The concious mind is the one that interprets the world, it's the one we all know and are aware of.
The unconscious mind is the one that controls all the body systems, breathing, digesting, pain and fear, and everything else.

Hypnosis accesses the unconscious mind much more freely. Get access to this and the power to control a person is all pervasive and a little dangerous.

The Placebo effect is the power of suggestion without hypnosis and fascinating stuff.

The Placebo effect is a interesting one.

This was also covered in the Live Extercey trials.
People where giving Extercey and other people where given Placebo.

Funny on some of the result :p

The problem is with him (Derren Brown) is that, in his shows he always gets tangled up with audiences that are professionally selected and or of a clairvoyance nature, or some form of university audience studying similar subjects, for me, it's a bit strange.
ANYWAY...
Brosnan guy was a stooge he's a professional actor.

Brosnan's Twitter account was said to have been linked to his page on the Casting Call Pro site, before being taken down once people started investigating on twitter lol.

That to me, stinks of fish and i can't believe Derren was legit this time.
Also the problem with hypnosis, if they get prooved to be fake, it's against the law to make money from it, so of course, he and his team would do everything possible to defend it.

The question is..

Is Derren Brown Fake?

Answer?

I don't think so...but on the zombie thing, yes! he faked all that, i think it was scripted.

At the end of the day, does it even matter if it's fake or not though?
It's entertaining either way...job done.

Yes it matters lol.
Because it's these kind of programs that make people superstitious and not belive in similar things.

One person will believe in hypnosis where someone is supposed to be basically having their mental state changed, yet would defy and ridicule a ouija board..both really use a similar method of tapping into the unknown part of the brain...

Both are real, but only 1 is accepted?

But like the ouija board, the only way to prove it to yourself is to do it yourself... But at the end of the day, so what? Unless we devolve back into the days of witch hunts, it's neither here nor there whether the populace believe in hypnosis or ouija boards.
