Way back when... we used to have images displayed instead of the forum name and text.
This is how those buttons looked:
It ended up looking pretty damned good thanks to Dave's coding, he removed all the separators and text. This gives you an idea of how it might've looked back then, let me just say it looked a lot better than this image.
