Daz had this as one of his suggestions at the end of the last week we did this, but I just noticed this is on ITV2 on Friday at 9pm, so figured it was a good excuse to revive the thread
The ultimate alpha male film. Fail to watch it and suffer reduced testosterone flow...
Just finished, and gotta be honest... I still get goose bumps for this bit:
And have to fight back a tear at the end.
However, the action scenes do look ever so slightly dated, but that may be because I've just watched 2 seasons of Spartacus... Still joint first in my top 3 films.

I've just finished watching it and ...
honestly, it's aged badly.
The fight scenes are just too chaotic to really know whats going on, The are shit loads of continuity mistakes, one person dies twice in the same battle two different ways.. WFT?
I loved this movie when it came out, but now it's just slow going and hard work to watch it. I even gave up today and just skipped to all the brawling.
One to avoid.

i watched it on tuesday night.
I have to be honest and i turned it off half way through, i got so bored i lost intrest in completing it.
I watched previously to that "ghost rider - spirit of vengeance" which was pretty gash aswell.
I dunno man the gladiator film wasn't as cool as i thought it would be, i hadn't seen it for some time and i was expecting more..
Ridley Scott is great in what he does, but for this movie i am not so sure anymore lol.
It was like i am going to kill the bad guy towards the end, but we'll waste some time in fight scenes and shit.
Infact the film uses people from roman times who were infact real people, but this film treats it like a sci-fi and they seem to make alot of it up, when infact alot of the characters are based on true people - not a fan of this.
I have ot admit some of the action scenes are good, but i agree with daz, watch it now and it's a bit "meh", after i got half way through i remembered watching the film at release and i just couldn't be arsed to finish it, it just lost my intrest.
5/10
if i watched it all it's probably be a 2/10.
It will sit in my shelf forever to collect dust now.. i think lol.
