I've got a dying HDD (my music collection is on it!) so I took a look at www.CCLonline.com and found a drive in my price bracket. £50 for a 500gig. Now that to me seems expensive, but 2TB HDD's are £90
I bought a 1.5TB hdd not 12 months ago for £70

So maybe it's the low-mid range thats expensive while the top end is coming down a little.

either way I cant afford it, anything less than a 500 would be a dead loss, I could only put my music collection on it, so for anything else I'd need a bigger HDD.

I suppose I could kill 2 birds with one stone and get a SSD for £60 @ 60GB
then use my windows drive for Program files and music?

And I finally get to see what all the SSD fuss is about.

or a 120GB for £72

Why not burn your music to DVD or CD?

Most hardware is Chinese (Made in China), now and again do you find Japanese, Korean or Hong Kong hardware.

Hitachi=Japanese - Made in China Go figure!

I do have a backup on 1 other drive, and currently backing up to a second HDD. I also have Blu-ray backups too, but they're out of date, and still it spans 20+ discs. This includes iTunes purchases.
