Shepherd is a throwback to the 80s arcade style gaming, but instead of using a light gun you use your finger.
The aim of the game is to save your flock of sheep from alien invaders, now I'm not sure if it's a sexual thing or if they just love dinner kebabs, I never stopped to ask.
The action is fast and frantic with lots to do and manage, it can be overwhelming sometimes but you get an awesome armoury to backup the pace, Uzi 9mm, shotgun, laser, RPGs, and lots more.
The first time you fire up the game you'll be presented with a quick and easy tutorial, there's no way to avoid it but at the same time you do need it, it introduces you to the simplistic controls and gameplay style. now don't write it off on this basis, some of the best games available on the app store are simple but highly addictive.
Your job is to save the sheep from the aliens that drop down in their little spaceships, tapping the screen on them fires the gun, but if there's another's UFO close by it will chain an explosion to the next UFO, and so on, I managed an 11 chain and it's damn satisfying when it happens. Graphically the game is very colourful with sharp and very very sweet oldskool style graphics, sound is spot on too. But it's the nature of the game play that will keep you hooked, it's damned hard later on but the early levels give you a good introduction until you get the hang of it, then it ups the pace to near frantic levels.
Overall a great game thats'll keep you dropping in and out all the damn time! I love it!
