I miss Discovery and NatGeo so much, then of course there's all the new HD channels.
But I'm curious, do the new sky HD boxes let you transfer from internal HDD to External HDD for remote playback? Probably not, but it's worth asking.
Anything on the custom firmware side?

Gave up the £50 a month sub I had when most of the stuff I watch shows in the US either a week or a few months before it comes to Sky.
I was only watching Mythbusters and the footy anyway.
Sky player was nice though.

No custom firmwares
no way to transfer content from / to the HD
Sky invested millions / billions into there security / encryption

I'd love to go cable, but there isn't any on my street.
There is cable 100 metres away though, maybe I could hook into it?

really wtf lol.
I am suprised since telewest broadband was popular in yorkshire.
my mate lives in cleakheaton and the next street to him has cable, literally 10 meters away.. yet his street doesn't.

I know it's stupid, I hoped and prayed they'd come down here... but no such luck. It also meant I had to wait another 3 years for broadband too.
Getting SkyHD on wednesday next week! woot.
