I know I'm probably low on credit after getting you to buy End War and you hating it, but if we wanted another RPG we can all co-op then Sacred 2 is probably the way to go...
The possible character builds are hugely deep (but it's best to read the wiki because you can fuck up your build, like Demon's Souls). Also the map is huge. Like, bigger than Oblivion, and there are so many little hand-crafted touches... None of it is randomly generated. In fact none of it even feels tiled - even caves etc.
I've put over a 100 hours into this game and still haven't seen everything it has to offer. If you like top-down hack and slash like Baldur's Gate on PS2, Champions of Norrath or Diablo, it's definitely worth checking out.

I would not worry about credibility with this game. This game is awesome if you like rpg dungeon crawler style games this is definatly the one. yeah has frame rate issues sometimes and a few little bugs but overall a amazing game and if you get this spend the little extra for the imp he will come in very usefull in huge fights where there is no way to dump stuff in a box.
If you are gonna start with this game count me in anytime.

Jesus...OK...
Symonator wrote:what sort of classes are there?
Dryad - forest tree-hugging archer type chick.
High Elf - hoighty toighty elf mage bitch.
Inquisitor - dark priest dude.
Seraphim - melee angel chick.
Shadow Warrior - undead melee knight tank dude.
Temple Guardian - gun wielding ancient Egyptian mech type thing.
Symonator wrote:Wha about mounts? (besides horses as in video)
Horses are for poofs (I hired one once - fuck that). Each class has there own specific mount that you can unlock later on then can buy replacements on the rare occasion it gets killed. If you have a mount, you can summon it at will when you're outside. Also, your class mount boost various aspects of your character. Horses can charge and stamp I think...
Symonator wrote:Powers? like magic etc?
Fuck loads - all different per class.
Click: http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sa ... cter_Class
I don't know what a "dragon mage" is - I'm guessing it's PC only or something... It's not on PS3. All the other classes are. Combat arts are what your after for this question...
Symonator wrote:whats the level cap?
200.
Symonator wrote:Is there ALOT of go here, collect this, collect that, escort me, etc quests?
Yeah I guess. But it doesn't get as old as it can in other games. There are a shit tonne of side quests. But there are also big assed dragons to kill.
Symonator wrote:Not sure about the camera angle, i think it ruins it, but i could get used to it, i suppose.
You can make the camera quite low - not as low as Dark Souls, but pretty low. I prefer the birds eye view though because you can tell what's going on and it's old school
Jay - you got it? What level/class? I'm trying to get to gold and niob - I forget where I am... Half way through silver I think. And I think my main character is a seraphim, but it's been a while.
I keep meaning to go back to it, and very nearly did this weekend after posting this.

I'll take that bet - I don't think you will
If/when you do get it, I'd recommend going for all the "get class X to level 15" trophies. That will let you sample them all to a reasonable degree before deciding which one to invest some time into. Then read up on the wiki or where ever about builds for your chosen class.
There's no re-speccing or anything, so it pays to start off in the right direction
EDIT: cos it's lunch time and I'm bored, here's a random gameplay video that shows the camera levels and what to expect game play wise...

Good luck! It's pretty old, so you might have to resort to online ordering...
I found it in Sainsburys for £15 - was the best £15 I spent

Result! I better remember how to play... I'll probably need to start a new character anyway, as there is a level cap for joining, like D'Souls.

Got back into this on Saturday and ended up playing it nearly all day! Forgot how fucking addictive it is. Except I ended up spending 7.5 million on 3 tigers because they got killed. 2 legit, and 1 because I had to answer the door for pizza and left it in the desert (fuck you scorpions). Now there's no more tigers left that boost the aspect I want - I hope he refreshes his stock periodically, although I'm quite enjoying running around on foot. I never realised quite how nerfed you were fighting from a mount...
Also, I found one armour set piece in my inventory and picked up another while playing (I've really gone all out on Enhanced Perception skill). So now I only need 2 more pieces of 9 for a complete set
Some more info for any prospective players... The combat is kind of World of Warcraft like. There's no manual evasion or blocking, although armour and shields give you a chance to block, so it's there under the bonnet. But you basically spam attack and munch potions and hope you kill them before they kill you.
The strategy comes from tweaking your build, for which there are many options. And you configure attacks much like DCUO - you can assign any power or equipment (e.g. sword, bow) to face buttons. L2 and R2 act like shift keys, so you can effectively equip 12 items or abilities (potions map to the d-pad, so you don't need to use face buttons for those).
Also, there's no mana or anything. Powers basically have a recharge time that you can reduce by putting XP into certain attributes, or is increased by wearing heavy armour. Most of the strategy depth comes from trying to get your most OP powers as spammable as possible.
