just thought i'd put down my impressions so far (played about 6hours online, rank 32), so you can get a jist of whether or not you might pick it up .......i havent yet touched singleplayer!
The Good IMO:
Same old call of duty twitchy gameplay, plays VERY smooth atm (no issues with lag, connection errors etc), decent balancing on the perks side of things, absolute mass of ranks and weapons attachments to work your way through etc. & new game mode Kill Confirmed is fun and doesnt promote camping as you simply dont have time too lol + the bloody comms work!!!!
The Bad/bit iffy:
Not a technical advancement in terms of graphics, same old sounds (even use the same sound clip from MW2 for when you rank up).
a couple of very claustrophobic maps....basically if you dont know your way around them your fucked! Some 'very' good players aswell.
The easiest way i can sum it up is, if you enjoy the gameplay style and wanted a version of MW2 minus some of the silly bullshit(aka nukes etc), then its worth a look.
Does feel slightly faster gameplay than black ops if im honest (might just be me). Seem to be more CQC maps than previous games aswell.
I know a lot of you wont pick it up, as agreeably it is just 'more of the same' so to speak...but apparently the campaign is supposed to be decent aswell

forgot to add that everything is done on the old XP system , not the (CP) 'Cod Points' system introduced in black ops.
so you have to be a particular rank to use certain guns/perks.....you cant just buy and pick what you fancy.
i might get shouted at for this but its the same old wank then?
think ill stick to BF3 ill give MW3 a whirl but my expectations are lower than a snakes belly

I don't know why, but those videos just really served to douse any ember of interest that was lurking for the series... I think it's because it essentially just looks like Doom with better graphics (although the graphics don't look great, but that might be down to capture quality).

Coming via French news channel TF1 - an armed robbery took place in France over the weekend that resulted in the theft of approximately 6,000 copies of Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
More Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Videos
The report detailed how two men crashed their car into a van carrying unspecified video game cargo before spraying its occupants with tear gas and stealing both the van and contents. The contents of the van was later confirmed to be copies of Modern Warfare 3 and the theft is believed to be worth around €400,000. The report states that the assailants were armed with knives but does not mention if the victims of the assault were hurt.
A later update to the story suggested that a second robbery took place under similar circumstances, with a car used to block the road before three men commandeered another delivery van and stole a further cache of MW3 worth similar value to the first.
Elsewhere, demand for MW3 has been predictably high, with one eBay copy of the game allegedly selling for over $1,700. MW3 officially launches tonight at midnight.

I think DICE /EA would have given and arm and a leg for this to happen to their van.

I was gunna get it but u said it's samey and tbh i looked at videos and it looks like mw2 even the sounds like you say are the same indeed.
Apart from aiming right and killing someone on the left, it doesn't give me ball sickness watching it. I'm pretty sure there is no lag on aiming either.
